Frankfurt - Köln 2:2. That was one of the most entertaining second halves I have watched live. We were lousy in the first 45 minutes, Frankfurt could have scored three or four goals. After the break, we finally started fighting back and created great goalscoring chances. In the end, Eintracht didn't deserve to lose, so let's forget about the sitter missed by Ishiaku. He was cheered by the fans after the game. There must have been 5000 or 6000 of us in the Commerzbank-Arena.

I was very impressed with Nova, not only because he scored twice. The way he shields the ball and sets up chances for his teammates is pure class. Geromel was a tower of strength as well, although he lost the ball cheaply on one occasion.
Not a new insight really, but we have to do something about our malaise on the wings.

I had my doubts about him, but he's convinced me with his performance so far this season.

hello. We are some Norwegians who are going to see the match on Saturdays and i wonder if someone could give me some advice on some good pubs with good atmosphere both before and after the match.

I'm not a local, but I know a pub which is very close to the stadium and packed with FC fans before matches. It's called "Doping" (Carl-Diem-Weg 6).

Enjoy your stay!

Have to admit it, I was afraid that Novagol might not be up to it in B1, but he's a champ.

Ditto. If he stays with us and if Poldi gets his act together (yeah I know, two ifs in one sentence), then we might have a scary attack next year.

From the official FC website: Michael Meier talked to Roda Antar about the player's future at the club. Meier claims to have said that Antar could be an important player for the team if he showed a positive attitude. Today, Antar didn't show up for training. Meier interpretes this as a clear decision against the FC.

I expect he would stay, but when does his contract expire?

It was prolonged until 2011.

Antar could have been an important player for Koln?

Meier is f#cking crazy if he seriously believes that.

The only way Roda Antar would be an "important player" for you guys is if you are relegated and lose your entire starting lineup.

Wait until you've read this (older) quote:
"A player with his abilities - normally that's Champions League format," says Meier.

Oh man. Sounds like the same crap he was spewing when he wasted 7M to bring useless f#cking Juan Ramon Fernandez to Dortmund.......

Come on, "Champions League stuff"... we're still talking about Roda Antar... obviously. ;)
He has provoked his own sacking and won't be considered for matches any more. He may avail himself of training opportunities as long as he is under contract, but that's it.

Someone on the official FC message board suggested that we should compose a nice promotion video and offer Antar to ManCity. It could work I guess. :D

Maybe this is Thomas Broich's chance.

Broich. So much potential, so little realized........ :(

Geez, Antar is a buffoon. Nice idea with Man City, but might be better with MLS.

There were reports during the winter transfer window that his old mentor, Volker Finke, wanted to bring Antar to Japan to join him there.

But nothing came of it.

I think even though Finke isn't there anymore, Antar would probably like to do nothing more than return to SC Freiburg.

I am sick of Antar. Daum gave him so many chances in the first half of the season and Antar often payed it back with listlessness.

In the winter break Antar but Daum said that he still needed him.

After that Antar actually started working again and trained hard for a spot on the team. But against Wolfsburg Daum ended up choosing Yalcin who also had worked hard and showed an amazing developement during the winter break instead of Antar.

Immediatly after that Antar started bitching again and now he is skipping training and provoking his suspension.

Antar needs to suck it up an accept that after an awful first half of a season
he is merely a sub right now. He behaves like some kind of superstar when in reality he is a below average player.
If he wants a spot on the first team again, he needs to work hard and continue to work hard it won`t come overnight.

Maybe this is Thomas Broich's chance.I wouldn`t count on it. Daum seems to have a strong dislike for Broich.
Imo Broich was already way stronger than Antar in the last season.

Now on to more pleasant topics

Nova recently said that he is happy in Kölle and wouldn`t mind staying here
till his carrer end. He would extend his contract immediatly but Meier declined
since it would mean that his salary would be extended again and that just happened this summer when Novas contract wad extended to 2011.

Poldi is going to earn a lot more than the other FC players, lets hope that there won`t be any tensions because of that.

Oh and the Freis deal seems to be as good as done. I think he is going to play in the Vucicevic position rather than the Nova/Ishiaku position which propably means that Vucicevic`s contract won`t be extended.

Well you know how I feel about Antar, no point re-hashing.

Broich- I expect he will be gone in the summer, 2B or some exotic location.

Freis - I like the move. I don't think Vuci is consistent enough, and maybe not athletic enough for B1.

Antar is not even a substitute anymore, otherwise Meier's public statement was very misleading.

Freis instead of Vucicevic - if that's the plan, then I retract my former objections. I just want us to spend our money on specific weaknesses.

This might happen, but I wouldn't like it. Surely he's good enough as a backup at least. He knows how to hide his potential, but he showed it last summer at a crucial stage.

Today Vuci is great again. it is such a shame that he is so inconsistent.
he could be such an important player for us
