Great win for us. Huge!

Well, there are two others tentatively scheduled for Sunday...
Werder-Hannover
Karlsruhe-M'gladbach

But I'm guessing we'll again be getting two Saturday matches because there are three being played that have more importance regarding the top of the tabelle...
Wolfsburg-Bayern
Hertha-Dortmund
Hamburg-Hoffenheim

Not the best game, but a great result. 10 points between us and Gladbach, I think we've done it! Yessssssss!

Yeah, I think you guys are just about there. There's still 27 points left to play for this season.

I think another five or six points is what will be needed. I don't think it will quite take a full 40 for safety this season.

If you guys can take one or three from Leverkusen on 5 April (This coming weekend is an international weekend), just look at this:

Bielefeld plays Schalke in Bielefeld. Bochum hosts Stuttgart, Hannover has to go Bremen, while Frankfurt and Cottbus play each other in Frankfurt and KSC and Gladbach play each other in Karlsruhe.

Just one point should do you guys well that weekend too.

And don't forget to look up. Bremen might win, but my team, BVB, has to go to Berlin. You could possibly gain points on us too.

We still have to face some of the best sides of the league. I hope that our players don't stop working now, but I'm quite relaxed at the moment. After what we've been through in the past few years, it is a fantastic feeling to be a mid-table team. :D
Our home games against Leverkusen often end in a draw. I'd be quite pleased with one point.

Contrary to the reception Poldi always received, I'm guessing Helmes will not be receiving any luv from the home support.

Good job from your guys! ;) Gifting us the 3 points and getting them back in Cottbus...:)

Don't push it, Borussia. ;) Joking aside, it's strange how some teams always struggle against the same opposition. We could as well start a season with minus three points and be spared the experience of losing to Gladbach at home. On the other hand, we're often successful against Cottbus.

Yep. Just look at our game against a very defensive Bochum team...

There's really a reason to be superstitious sometimes, as history tells us that the "boogey team" theory isn't just a fairy tale (i.e. my local team Fürth never loses against Mainz, Aachen & St. Pauli ... and gets always screwed by Koblenz & BMG ;) ).

I got the feeling that Fürth after many many years of coming very close to it finally reaches the third place at the end of the season. Only to be beaten by Gladbach in the relegation matches.

and then Henry Kissinger will have a heart attack

Don't scare me with the scenario of Gladbach facing Fürth in the "play offs" ! ;)

Would you root for Gladbach in that case?

I'd root for Fürth in the promo battle. Would be cool to see them promoted.

I've always been neutral in games between Gladbach and Fürth so far (being a supporter of both clubs) ... however, this time I think that I'm gonna hope for BMG to keep the league (as I know what a disaster another relegation would be for the club and its reputation) in the case that both teams should really have to play against each other. But believe me, I'm praying day and night that this "worst case" scenario (from my point of view) won't occur in the end (a Fürth failure in the "play offs" would be very painful for me as well, after so many futile attempts in the past). :-))

Given their past record of heartbreaking failure, I can see Fürth dropping to fourth or fifth at the end of the season, but with the exception of Freiburg, none of the teams at the top of the table are very consistent. I'd like Kaiserslautern to make it in the end, but they too are not consistent enough.

And even Freiburg started struggling a bit in the last matches.
But I see them the most consistent over the whole season, too.

Seeing Kaiserslautern back in BL would be nice and their fanbase deserves it.
But I think a promotion would become too early for them. I rate Sasic a good coach and I would like him to construct a team, that is capable of playing a good role in Bundesliga. I dunno about Kaiserslauterns exact financial situation, but I remember it to not be fine and that could make the developement difficult (key players leave, ...).
