Well it looks like Slomka is out. Among other things he did want more money than the FC was willing to pay.
Now bring on Soldo

No way. Try again. HSV wanted a guy who would be satisfied with being "just coach" and by all accounts, they eyed Labbadia from the day Jol left.
Houllier will look for a situation close to the one he had at Liverpool. Where he was coach and had great influence over the club's transfer policy.
Most of all, any club he joins has to be willing to spend, spend, spend.
HSV isn't going to do any of that. Neither is 1. FC Koln.
But I don't believe that stopped Meier from talking to Houllier.
BTW, despite Overath's Houllier denial, "Kicker" is sticking with their story.
And the past few times that has happened, the club involved has been found to be the ones who lied.........
Okay, let's clarify something. Fair enough, Houllier probably was no candidate to succeed Jol last month. But it was Kicker, the same magazine that you seem to regard as trustworthy as far as their most recent Houllier story is concerned, which reported that Hamburg wanted to sign the Frenchman last year:
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/192176/
I see no reason why we should argue over this, because I generally share your view on Kicker. But I also think that Wolfgang Overath is a very ethical and decent chap. Maybe his statements leave a very small possibilty of secretive talks between Meier and Houllier, but I don't think that he (Overath) lied to the public.

Yeah, I know all about that. But since I'm talking about the present, I thought you were too.
But for your information, the very reasons I gave you before are the reasons that didn't and wouldn't have worked out.
So I may not have had the right time frame, but the same reasons are still relevant and correct.

Dude, whatever. As you said, it's nothing to argue over.....

Kicker is reporting that too. They also report that Michael Henke is leaving Bayern to be Soldo's Co-Trainer.
I have no doubt that was Meier's doing as Meier worked with Henke and Hitzfeld at BVB for so long.
Click here (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/510054/) for the full "Kicker" story. In German of course......

Wow, Soldo as coach and Henke as assistant - that's a creative solution. Good luck to both, I've got a feeling that this could be good for us.

now its official Vucicevic won`t get a new contract.
he showed some great games last season (like the one against Schalke)
unfortunately he was just so inconsistent so I think the decision is ok.

The decision is OK as long as you have someone who can fill that void and do it better than he did.
Inconsistent is better than nothing.
As far as Vucicevic ("Fester" to those of us who've followed him since his 1860 days), in my opinion he'd be smart to try to catch on with Bochum, Gladbach, Freiburg or Frankfurt.

I still think Freis was hired for the Vucicevic position. He will not get past Poldi or nova and as a sub he and Ishiaku are too expensive for us.
newest rumour is Jesper Christiansen a goalie from Kopenhagen.
I don`t know. I don`t think that we are in a dire need for a new goalie, Mondragon is still ok and we have other positions where an investment is more needed.

If that is so, this will be an interesting thing to watch. I don't know that Freis is the ball-handler and play-maker that "Fester" is.......
I really thought you guys were getting Freis to back up Poldi and you guys were trying to sell Ishiaku.

Mondragon has another year left on his contract, doesn't he?
Could it be they are anticipating either not wanting to extend Mondragon or that Mondragon will not want to extend?
Maybe Mondragon wants to follow Daum back to Turkey??
Who knows?? :o

True. Meier wants to have Sosa to replace Nema, but the question is if we can get Sosa from Munich... If so then he is without argues more than just a replacement.
