The Hoffenheim manager said yesterday on Premiere that the players were ten minutes late for the test because they went to a team meeting called by Rangnick first.
Based on what I heard, he called the meeting upon hearing about the players going to get tested, no?

Because of how the match went. Sometimes in the heat of the moment, you don't think about pissing in a cup.

He could be the first star player coming straight from the Hoffenheim youth..:D You are right he is 17, and 1.91m. People only say good things about him, and it looks like Rangnick rates him higher than 5 million € Wellington...He gets more and more time to play so far.
Let's wait and see. I trust the manager.

The stupid doping saga continues,
The German football federation DFB has called on Hoffenheim coach Ralf Rangnick to elaborate on comments in which he sought to explain why two of his players turned up late for a doping test. The federation has also called for written statements from the players, defenders Andreas Ibertsberger and Christoph Janker, who are being investigated for breach of doping regulations.
The players turned up 10 minutes late for a doping control immediately after the Bundesliga match on February 7 at Borussia Moenchengladbach.
Rangnick told a regional television programme Sunday evening the players had gone into the changing room to put on a fresh shirt, saying this was common practice at other Bundesliga clubs.
"It was often so in the past that even the doping expert said they could go quickly to the dressing room to put on a fresh shirt," Rangnick said.
The coach said he had spoken to other managers about it and "it's also the case at other clubs that players have the possibility or are told to change into a fresh shirt."
Both Ibertsberger, a 26-year-old Austrian international, and fellow defender Jancker, 24, recorded negative doping tests in the controls carried out after the match which ended 1-1.
"That doping does not take place at Hoffenheim and in the Bundesliga is without question," Rangnick said.
DFB vice-president and legal affairs expert Rainer Koch said the federation adhered strictly to the anti-doping guidelines. It would take legal proceedings should it become aware of any practices which were in breach of the regulations, he said.
The Hoffenheim players could face suspension, while Borussia Monchengladbach have lodged an official appeal over the 1-1 draw.
Borussia sports director Max Eberl said the appeal was lodged as a "legal safeguard" and not with the aim of being awarded the points.
"For me as a former professional player it would be sad if the players were to receive drastic sanctions. They weren't doped after all," he said.
However Eberl said doping "is an issue in sport and we have to be credible in football and cannot be negligent on this." Clear rules were necessary "and rules always mean consequences." dpa
For me it seems that Rangick pulls a Mourinho and tries to get all the attention not his players.
Dortmund match is up next week, so concentration is everything.
I know that all the injuries, stories and scandals will make the team only stronger.

The players who evaded the immediate doping tests (stories and reasons behind why they did are irrelevant) must be penalised. And fortunately, doping is a matter on which the DFB (who as we know does whatever Hopp wants them to do) doesn't have exclusive authority.

There are too many unclear points in this case, too many speculations.

No he's not. It's illlegal to be on the field without a shoe. Equally, it's illegal to have objects on the field than can potentially change a ball's direction and movement. Therefore, there was no use having the shoe on the field and no use in Salihovic being on the field without it on. So Lehmann threw it off, and Salihovic went off after it.
I see no problem there.
If anything you should be mad at Salihovic for losing you an extra 2 points.

I don't like Jens Lehman. He is an angry old man. It's his last season. And they kicked him from the german team. That's sad for him. But still no reason to behave like this.

Shit happens. I don't blame him for the bad kick.
He's still a good boy!!!

Either you don't like him to the point that you won't see reality or you just don't know what you're talking about.

I don't blame him that much too. I wanted a draw against Stuttgart, and the boys showed a great team spirit. Though I hope Teber or someone else will score the next pen's.:D

1. He's not an old man - OK by football standards he may seem ancient, but he's still the fittest guy in the VfB squad. He got the best results in the winter fitness tests.
2. They didn't kick him from the national team, he retired from it since he obviously won't play a World Cup at the age of 40, and gives a chance to younger guys like Rene Adler to establish themselves. It's not because he's not good enough - he's still amongst Germany's best 3 goalkeepers imo.
3. It might not be his last season, there are still discussions over whether he'll remain for 09/10 or not.
4. His name is spelt with two N's. - Now I don't mean to be a grammar nazi but i'm just pointing this because, incredibly:
you managed to make four mistakes/incorrect statements in just 37 words.

See the balding guy in the red shirt going for the ball? He's 23 years old.

I don't know how old you are, but I think most grown-ups know that you can't tell whether someone is "old" or not simply by whether they are balding or not.
And if you think this is something that just afflicts footballers, you are mistaken.
A few of my friends also began balding in their mid-20s.
Whether you were joking or not (I like the smiley face you made on the other player), you could have better made your point by typing in the fact that Lehmann is tied with another guy as oldest players in the Bundesliga.
After which I'm sure Vfbstuttgartfan would have told you that there are still very few keepers in the Bundesliga he'd rather have than Lehmann.........
