How can you be "surprised" when you said it yourself. "When his head is right", he can be great......
Take away last season and when was the last time his head was "right??"
Better than anything Hoffenheim already had? Yeah.
Worth 7M Euros? Not in my opinion.
Not when Lucio is apparently available.
If you're going to spend money on a central defender who is going to give you two to three good seasons tops and you have the money, go get Lucio.
joe saw some sport phycologist who he says helped him out alot..whether its a coincidence or not i dont know..all i do know is he was great at euros followed by an excellent season for hertha..one year wonder maybe but joe always did have the talent to be a really good defender..there were several english clubs interested as well so i am a bit surprised he did not go to the epl..if he produces another season like last year then he is well worth the 7 million..as for lucio if he is available then yes i agree he is would be a better option then joe..im not sure how true those rumors are to be honest..

But you never know.

Yea but how much would Lucio really want to join Hoffy?
I figured at this point in time during his career, he would make a move to a different league: EPL, Serie A, La Liga...
Going to Hoffy for Lucio would be going "sideways", at best (no offense).

I'm about to piss off the few Hoffenheim fans there are.
It would initially be a step down for Lucio.
However, right now, I think he probably wants to "stick it" to Bayern.
What better way than to join their rising rivals??
But that was just a thought. I'm thinking Lucio is heading somewhere like Real, Inter or Barcelona.

Lucio to Real would be a logical choice. Him and Raul Albiol would be a good partnership I feel.

Well, I cannot say that I disagree.
But I also think Lucio would consider Hoffenheim if they were to make an offer.
Plus, I don't think Real is going to just shove Pepe out the door. When his suspension is up, he will definitely step right back into the starting lineup.
Which makes me think of another possible "better" candidate for Hoffenheim.
Christoph Metzelder. I think Real would take a loaf of bread for him right now.......

According to this "Bild" article (http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/stuttgart/2009/07/01/demba-ba/hoffenheim-kriegt-12-millionen-euro.html), Hoffenheim and Stuttgart have agreed on a 12M Euro transfer fee for Hoffenheim striker Demba Ba to move to Stuttgart.

simunic had maybe his best year of his career last year and was one the best defenders in the bundesliga last year..im surprised that he moved to hoffenheim as he always stated he wanted to finish his career in the epl..
Well Micho Demichelis was also once Bundesligas best CB, but he did not show anything last season.
Simunic is nothing more than a good above average CB for Bundesliga level. I don't wonder why he did not move to EPL - I guess no one wanted him.
Why would you complain about Simunic, he's much better than any of the average CB that are at Hoffenheim?!
Well Compper, Jaissle and Vorsah may be not that good NOW, but their talent is there. Especially Jaissle who has a bright future in front of him.
We would not pay one single money for that J*e Simunic guy if Jaissle would not be one year off with his injury.
The Ba-Saga continues. Stuttgart does not confirm that 12 M€ deal.
12 M € must be a joke. We still have to give 20% futura venta to Ba's ex club.

joe could have moved to epl last season as he had offers from a couple of teams..i cant remember who they were but they were not top 10 epl teams..i personally rate joe simunic very highly as he has exceptional technique and is very strong in the air..i think he will prove you wrong when he has another stellar year this upcoming season..:)

J*e simunic is talking some bla bla, unbelievable:
http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/hertha/2009/07/02/josip-simunic/darum-verlasse-ich-hertha-bsc-berlin.html
BILD: Warum Hoffenheim?
Hoffenheim is his dream club now.

Yes, that's very touching. My point is that now none of them are as good as Simunic, or even close. Tbh from what your CB have shown, they are just average. Maybe they can get to good or great CB, but they are just average atm.
