Its not like a 5 game ban for a player that has just gotten his 3rd red card in one season, all of them for "Tätlichkeiten", is a problem that just "showed up" out of nowhere....
I said it before sometime. Hoffenheim should put their focus back on playing football. That they did quite good. All the diving, foul play and shit doesnt suit them very well at all....
And btw, KSC vs Hoffenheim is NOT a derby...
No argument, but lose top scorer for the season, injuries to Obasi, then Jaissle, and a few others and suspensions. We knew depth was going to be a problem, but its proven to be a killer for them.
They may end up in the top 10, but only just, if they keep us this path.

No doubt. But I dont see why people act like Hoffenheim is the only team with injuries.
Heck, I'd be glad if "only" 5 of our top players had been missing this season.

Very true. I also think like Hertha, Hoffenheim's luck simply ran out. They just can't seem to get things going their way again.

The things that makes them different ...
1) Newly promoted club, that was a newly promoted club, that was a newly promoted club....
2) they were the top of the table at the break.
3) That was a huge surprise.
If they were a team that had been in the 1st liga for the past few years, were middle of the table, as it was expected - then its not a big deal.
If one of the injuries was the top scorer in the league, well that's a bit more harsh than losing a guy who's career high in goals is half of what the other guy had in a half season.
Everyone has injuries, but this was just an unusual situation.

I think Hoffenheim also has had a huge switch in attitude. They went from playing great football to being more arrogant then FC Bayern within a half a year, and that doesnt work very well if you dont have the team to back it up...
Acting like 4 injuries are the only reason this team isnt on the top of the table is imo a very good example for that attitude.
And yes, statements like this too...
If one of the injuries was the top scorer in the league, well that's a bit more harsh than losing a guy who's career high in goals is half of what the other guy had in a half season.
Ibisevic has yet to prove that his career stats can at one time compare to for example Ioannis Amanatidis or Nikos Liberopolous. These two guys are just as important for Eintracht Frankfurt as he is for Hoffenheim. As are some other key players who have been out and injured this season, for example Chris.
So what. Thats how it goes. And Im sure a Cologne Fan, a Bayern Fan and a Dortmund Fan could also tell you key players they have been missing this season.
If you honestly believed that you can just march through an entire season without any injuries and throwbacks, I can only repeat my self...

Doc,
You are missing my point.
Every team has injuries - no doubt about that, but losing the top scorer in the league, no matter what his track record has been, is a huge loss. There was only 1 top scorer in the league at the break - and he only played for one team, so for him to get hurt is a huge loss.
It's the "reality" that the top scorer in the league is out for the year and his team has been hurt tremendously by his injury.

He's missed 10 games, and only one player has passed his total. Of course injuries to any teams #1 striker is going to affect their season, but losing Amanatidis, who's a great striker, but has only scored 33 goals in over 3 seasons is not the same as the league's top scorer?
Do you see my point? probably not.
oh well. Hoffenheim is going to struggle to the finish line and should be happy, but they will be disappointed as they could touch the salad bowl and lost it.

Of course I see the point that this is a huge loss. I dont think anyone would argue that.
I know very well how much that sucks. Its a long time ago but we also used to have a top striker once that was injured for much of the second half of a season.
But a) other teams have had huge losses. If you want to then add Chris, Amanatidis, Meier and Korkmaz together to make them as important as Ibisevic. ;) We still have plenty of other important players that have been missing this season...
and b) do you honestly want to make this up to be the sole or at least main reason for their complete failure in the second halftime of the season?!
That is my point. Hoffenheim are making it very easy on themselves looking for excuses like this. But f you were on top of the table for the Winter break, then losing one or two key players, as important they may have been, cant be an excuse for breaking in like that, it cant be an excuse for getting smashed by freaking Bochum!!
The reasons for this are somehwere else in my oppinion. As I said I think its a matter of attitude. But of course Hoffenheim Fans dont like hearing that.... :D

The DFB Disciplinary Committee suspended Hoffenheim's Carlos Eduardo for FIVE MATCHES today for his red card for deliberately elbowing Bochum's Philipp Bönig.
http://mediadb.kicker.de/news/1000/1020/1100/3000/artikel/707252/carlos_rot-1239714071.jpg
Hoffenheim has accepted the suspension, therefore, there will be no appeal.
Eduardo will miss the following Hoffenheim matches:
at Karlsruhe
Hertha BSC Berlin
at Wolfsburg
1. FC Koln
and
at Arminia Bielefeld
Eduardo will return for Hoffenheim's final two matches against FC Bayern and at Schalke 04.
http://mainzelsmile.ioff.de/unsortierbar/div128.gif
It becomes tradition with him. Last season he missed the last three matches.
I don't know but I think Carlos has missed with the new ban at least 7 games due to his dumb stubborn actions. Though he is a great talent, we will miss his attacking style - that is the worst problem since he was the best in the last games....
What's the next injury/problem to show up?
:D

For the note: Karlsruhe - Hoffenheim IS a derby. Some call it 'Baden-Derby'

Another match ahead of us ...
If Bundesliga would adapt a system like Argentina's Liga 1899 would have been Champion of the first 17 games (clausura), and drop last in the closing 17 games (apertura) Oh god, why does it remind me of River Plate ?:D

Back to Lewis Holtby:
Leverkusen Offical has said that the clubs of Leverkusen is not in a good position, and Express thinks it is because of Hoffenheim:
Einen dritten Edel-Techniker wird man sich bei Bayer nicht mehr ins Haus holen. Leverkusen hatte großes Interesse an Lewis Holtby (18) von Alemannia Aachen gezeigt, doch die besten Karten um das große Talent hat offenbar Hoffenheim.
„Lewis ist ein hochtalentierter Junge. Doch es wird sehr schwer für uns, das zu realisieren. Unsere Position ist nicht so gut“, sagt Manager Michael Reschke. Grund: Der Spieler will bereits im Sommer wechseln. Für Bayer wäre Holtby erst 2010 so richtig interessant geworden – ablösefrei und als „Ersatz“ für Leihspieler Kroos.

Normally Gustavo must get a clear red card.
Well, that was once again the ref bonus a club gets,
when the son of the clubs president workes at the DFB.

Conclusion:
Leverkusens management must have some relatives at the DFB, too. ;)
