and this edition's surprise is a big one... Cédric Carrasso! well deserved if you've seen him play lately.
GARDIENS : Steve Mandanda, Hugo Lloris, Cédric Carrasso
less deserved is boumsong being left off for escudé... not so much a knock on julien, but JAB has been just sooo good of late. you can't tell me ALL of these are better than he is:
DÉFENSEURS : Eric Abidal, Gaël Clichy, Julien Escudé, Rod Fanni, William Gallas, Philippe Mexès, Bacary Sagna, Sébastien Squillaci.
by mifdfielders they mean holding MF's. three of these means we're likely to see 2 start. take that larqué!
MILIEUX DE TERRAIN : Alou Diarra, Lassana Diarra, Jérémy Toulalan.
and all the rest are called strikers:
ATTAQUANTS : Nicolas Anelka, Karim Benzema, Jimmy Briand, Yoann Gourcuff, Thierry Henry, Samir Nasri, Franck Ribéry

L.Diarra  - What has he done to deserve a call-up? Signing for Real Madrid ?

Domenech has always had a man crush on lassana. i dont understand it either...maybe because he looks a lot like makelele?
I'm surprised that Briand is on the list. Why not Hoarau or Gignac??
(im not gonna even mention that guy who plays in Italy)

Hoarau or Gignac
while these two possess great potential, suggesting they be included in this squad and IN THIS GAME is too much for them. they barely got experience in ligue 1 let alone entrust them to play against argentina. lets wait and see if they really are national team material.

Hey yea don't mind StarrMatthieu, just about everything he posts gives you the impression he's yelling at you :) :p. I'm a little surprised at the Gignac snub, in favor of Briand, but yea maybe Argentina isn't the game for him. What I am pleased to see though, is the omission of Malouda, who has been absolute trash lately. I thought he was just gonna come on name alone.

trez is still injured, but both hoareau and gignac are more deserving than briand.

and what about Savidan? He performed well in my opinion last time. If one of those bicycle kicks had gone in, forget about it, he would have been a regular in the squad.
The question is who to put up front since it will most likely be a 4-2-3-1 formation. Benz, Henry, or Anelka. There are valid arguments for all three...

this is an important match to give players a high quality test. and since it's not coming on a planned NT break but sandwiched between two league weekends we will probably see lots of players for one half each. something like this;
in one:
Lloris
Fanni - Escudé - Squillaci - Abidal
Toulalan - L. Diarra
Ribéry - Gourcuff- Briand
Benzema
in the other:
Mandanda
Clichy - Gallas - Mexès - Sagna
L. Diarra - A. Diarra
Nasri - Gourcuff - Henry
Anelka

Beautifully taken strike, and nice work in the corner to start that all up. Just good work by him all around. If he keeps up like this we will seen him soon enough.
