... according to the trailer on Skysports last night. Seems he didn't show up for the match against Bulgaria. We know what that's like, what with him not showing up against Spurs and Wolves. Or maybe that was our problem... that he did show up, but just barely.
Anyway, one less guy to follow in this summer's upcoming "Reds on Euro 2004 Duty" thread.

I don't intend to be be disrespectful, but this occured way back in October or November last year and the Croatia manager has since said Biscan will be given another chance if he continues to play well for Liverpool.

Well, I can't find it now...but I seem to remember a story on the Fox Sports World site last week that basically quoted the Croation manager stating he won't play for them anytime soon, "if ever".

Oh.
In that case, I guess there is no chance that I will see him when England play Croatia in Portugal. :)

Here's a thread from October when Biscan first went AWOL: http://bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77377

There was a new report yesterday and maybe that's what prompted Dr. Wankler's post.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=289628&cc=5901 VALLETTA, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Croatian coach Otto Baric closed the door on Igor Biscan's hopes of playing in this summer's Euro 2004 championship on Tuesday.
Baric confirmed he would not pick the Liverpool defender for his squad for the tournament in Portugal after he failed to show up for a qualifier against Bulgaria last October.

What prompted it was a trailer at the bottom of skysports which I happened to see when the anchor not named Kelly started to talk. I thought it was old news, too. In fact, I am a bit surprised to find, according to the soccernet article, that he still had any hope of playing for the ancestral homeland (mine as well as his).
No disrespect felt on my part, Gabbage.

So if he's now out according to the manager we have to assume the manager has indeed been watching him play for Liverpool.
