I'm in a Latin American history Course.
So I'm just gonna post stuff or facts that stick out in mind concerning México.
From A History of Latin America: Volume 2 Indepence to the Present: "The number of bars in México City rose from 51 in 1864 to 1,400 in 1900. At the end of the century, the Méxican death rate from alcoholism--a common response to intolerable conditions and labor--was estimated to be six times that of France."
Or the changes or lack their of after the revolutions that produced freedom from Spain.
Ramón Mercado a Colombian liberal stated, "The War against Spain was not a revolution...Independence only scratched the surface of the social problem, without changing its essential nature.

1824-1825 English Bankers made loans of 32 million pesos to Mexico. However they only recieved 11 million befor the bankers went bankrupt.
By 1843 the national foreign debt had risin to more than 54 million pesos.
In 1830 el Banco de Avío was founded, which made loans that helped to ignite the rush to modernize Mexican Industary. It was successful for a awhile until 1843 when they went out of business which then caused the Mexican economy to continue to rely on Exporting goods and importing textiles and other goods.

Not that it's like the first time they voilated a treaty.

Invaded because of money owed to them........anyways, that was their premise.
England and Spain eventually left after side agreements, but France really wanted another colony over here.
This war was the final war that kept Europe out of the Americas for good.

We would have a much better National team with many African players, woOt WoOT.. Some more really cool buildings and would have surrendered more than half our territory to the U.S. So Mexico would officially begin in Guadalajara which would be full of Gueros and D.F would have a Madri Grass type Celebration, Tepito would be replaced with a French quarters and we would make some kick ass spicy baguets.. Oh and Mariachi songs would be in French.. .

Mariachi music is world class and the pride of the Mexican people. We don't need french clowns who steal Chicago House Music and call it French house to improve Mexican Music. Besides if you like techno you would know that what you mention above the fusion of techno and Mirachi has been done. Check the CD Nortech The Tijuana Sessions Vol 1. by various Mexican techno DJs. It cotains snars and Drums from Nortenas and other types of Mexican music made by some hip Mexicans. If it makes you feel better it was a rage in Europe.
