Fire had a full page ad in the tribune announcing plan for Bridgeview stadium and telling fans to buy season tickets at soldier field to get priority for the new stadium. They mention the 4/17 home opener and freddy adu. They have a metro area map showing where Bridgeview is. The only problem I have is the Fire is rewarding a newspaper who does a lousy job covering the Fire in their sports section.

Well how else are the Fire supposed to advertise season tickets to the general public?

They don't have ads in the suntimes and daily herald which do a decent job in covering the fire.

And how else are they supposed to convince the Trib they need to spend time on them?

They have advertised for years in the trib and it hasn't helped getting better coverage. Maybe its time to reward our friends and punish our enemies.

that's like cutting off your nose to spite your face. isn't the trib the biggest paper in chicago? I know it might hurt to bite the bullet, but when it comes to the media, MLS can't afford to have long memories of the past snubs of the press.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Talk to me of payback when the Fire have expanded the stadium to 40K, there is a two-year waiting list for season tickets, and we now have five times as many championships as all other Chicago area sports teams combined.
Actually, you'll be talking to my kids because I'll be pretty cold as well.
I think you catch my drift.
