So what else is new, EHD on Senegal's performance in a 0-0 draw with Burkina Faso:

'We had chances and we didn't take them,' said the Liverpool midfielder and former African Footballer of the Year. 'And when you don't take them in games at the highest level, you end up regretting it.

I guess he's had l;ots of chances to perfect that line.

In a more surprising part of the report Diao is credited with a miracle tackle on a breakaway to preserve the draw. That's harder to believe.

Diouf is starting to look more and more like a flash in the pan unfortuantely. :(

Of course he may end up getting transferred to a smaller club, and then start to produce. Maybe the Liverpool mystiqe is too much for him, or the pace is just to much in England.

It doesn't happen often LF, but I completely disagree with you.

Diouf is getting better all the time. Yes, he has his shortcomings. But he has unbelievable talent and is just beginnning to show it.

But last year we were crying out for width, GH has moved him wide and he is adjusting well to that position. His crosses still leave a lot to be desired but I think once he partners with Finnan on the right the two of them together will be unstoppable.

I can see Diouf running at his opposing fullback drawing two or three defenders to him and then releasing Finnan who can cross really well. Great combination.

It's a shame he reached his peak for us right before left for the ANC.

Everyone should just give Diouf a chance. Right now, he the best right midfielder we have, and thats not even his natural position. Diouf has great talent, and is getting better all the time. Give the guy a chance, he will be world class one day, and if we sell him we will always regret it.

His wing play is nice...but he needs to turn them into goals...whether they be assists or goals he scores himself (remember, he was signed for 10 million pounds as a "striker"). He's unquestionably talented, but like Cheyrou recently, you can't argue with results.

Senegal beat Kenya 3-0. Diouf credited with a goal making pass for Ndiang and for some good crosses. Also, its reported that Diouf's hesitation in front of an open net resulted in the loss of a clear chance for Senegal to go up 4-0.
