The Giallorossi may swoop for Nicolas Frey from Chievo as back up for their defence before the transfer window closes shortly.
Reports a few nights ago revealed that Udinese defender Marco Motta was virtually a Roma player, but problems with the fine details of the deal have seen things take a quick turn around, and the talented player seems no closer than a week ago.
Italy Under-21 captain and Udinese right-back Motta is currently being tracked by both Roma and Juventus, two of the powerhouses of Italian football.
A loan deal seemed the most likely option, with Udinese not wanting to lose the player on a permanent basis just yet, but the talented defender and the capital club may not be partners for the rest of the season after all, and the club is looking elsewhere as a result.
