Marseille have had some of the most interesting and attractive shirts of late. They paired up with Adidas to produce two fantastic kits.

Marseille 08/09 Away - Argyle. They used Argyle on a football strip! It may spring a few bad connotations to mind, especially for those in the UK, but I love it on this shirt. The city of Marseille - the rough and hip street culture - it all fits together. Great shades of blue accented well by the black.

Marseille 07/08 - Another bold statement. The outrageous colourway reflects the alternative street culture of the city yet again.

Ajax 02/04 Home - I was a big 'fan' of Ajax around this period. I thoroughly enjoyed their style of play in the CL, with the likes of van der Vaart, van der Meyde, Heitinga, Sneijder, Pienaar, de Jong and Ibrahimovic in the team. At the time Ibrahimovic was one of my favourite world players - while he was relatively unknown to the average football fan.
I went on holiday to Amsterdam in 2004, and made a trip to the Amsterdam Arena. Inside the club store hung this shirt, with Zlatan's name on the back. One problem - he had just moved to Juventus the week before!
I saw this shirt on sale, with long sleeves and CL patches on it for just 20gbp at Lillywhites on that same trip. I sadly never bought it, but have seen it taunting me on ebay for a similar price. One day...

France Home WC06 - The colours of the French shirts have always impressed me. The fact that France and Zidane had such a great tournament in these adds to the shirt. The material and quailty of the shirt is top-notch as well, especially the collar, which looks particularly smart. I actually own this shirt, but in a size that is far too large for me. I aim to find one in my size soon - when money is not longer a problem.

England 03/05 Home - To some, perhaps the ultimate Chav piece of apparel, to other...more. It looks a bit plain, but it is an absolute quality football shirt up close. The shirt is reversible! And it looks like a legit shirt either way. The material is fantastic - not too thick, not too thin. The collar is neither to stiff or floppy, and features good quality stud presses. The gold star on the sleeve was a neat addition for the first time.

Italy circa 2003 Home - I can't find a picture of this damn shirt anywhere, but I own one! Italy wore this in their qualification for EURO04. The reason I like it so much is for the collar and sleeves. These sleeves and collar featured on all Puma shirts of the same time, like Lazio and Monaco's CL Final shirt. If you've ever worn one of these kits, you'll see how they fit, and why they look so impressive.

Croatia Home Euro 08 - It was 10 years ago, in the 1998 WC that I first watched learnt of a nation named Croatia, who had a certain striker that went by the name of Suker. There shirts looked like tableclothes, and were just plain wackey to me! This shirt holds elements of that, while toning it down with a great shade of blue. It must also be mentioned that it shares the same colour combo that the French shirts impress me with.

RC Lens 08/09 Home - I just love the club's home colourway. Gold and blood.

South Korea WC02 Home - So they progressed through the tournament in strange circumstances, but their kit was awesome! The strange patterns on it were fantastic, as were the grey shorts that completed the kit. Very original, very nice.

My absolute favorite the 2008/09 1860 Home Jersey. I also like their third jersey which is essentially this one only with the base colour in gold and the Lion in green. I love this jersey because of its uniqueness no club in Europe has a jersey like this one. Erima really made a product that is very club specific.

Here's my favorite - the Arsenal home shirt from 2005-2006. Instead of the traditional red with white sleeves, Arsenal went with a complete redcurrant shirt to commemorate their last season at Highbury. The sponsor logo works as well (much better than having "Fly Emirates" across your chest).

I love this one, too - the Inter home shirt from 2007-2008. Classic Inter shirt, but they brought back the full collar and revised the badge for their 100th anniversary.

Bordeaux's 2008-2009 away shirt. I like the distinctive chevron and the change colors work well.

The Celtic third shirt from 2007-2008, which is basically the Inter home shirt from that year with Inter's blue stripes traded for Celtic's green.

Rubin Kazan's 2006-2007 UEFA Cup shirt. Reminds me of Arsenal's redcurrant shirt, but with a subtle two-tone design and a cooler sponsor logo.
