They seem to be doing a real good job of getting good players who are out of favor with big clubs. So far they got

Youssef Sofiane- West Ham United
Efstathios Tavlaridis-Arsenal
Mabula Lukunku-Galatasary
Milenko Acimovic-Tottenham Hotspur

Looks like a pretty good effort, better than any other French club so far.

Did Rennes add anyone besides Kallstrom?

nope, but the young players from rennes formation centre are getting more and more playtime
like jimmy briand, arnold m'vuemba, yoann gourcuff.
some other of them are now more or less always titular, like jacques faty, etienne didot, stephane n'guema..
most of them are future stars

Will they be able to keep them long term?

it will be hard for some of them, especially yoann gourcuff and jacques faty
jimmy briand him is compared to thierry henry (i think he has scored more than henry did when he was his age) but he still needs to play more with the pros. i haven't heard of a team which follows him yet. but there must me some.
the other players will probably stay with the club 2 or 3 years at least, and more if the club manages to get to the top :P
rennes formation centre isn't old (first star was wiltord), and it's now the #2nd (nantes's 1st, auxerre's 3rd)

Sounds like they are doing it right.

Already #2 - that's high cotton.

What about their GK, isn't he going to Chelski?

he's going in july, but we still don't know how much the transfer fee will be. rennes made a last proposition and are waiting for an answer at the end of the week (10 days ago it was around 12.5M euro, so it should be more now)

That's a big chunk of money. They should be able to load up and make a run at Europe.
