I dont think dudek was really to blams for the robert goal. The fact that he hit the ball at 78 MPH is one thing but not only that but the ball was swerving all the time and also its a heavier ball than is used in the premiership which dudek obviously isnt famililar with as the power combined with the weigh ment his touch did nothing to the ball. Anyway cheyrou pooping up with another 2 goals and us beating the toon is always something to cheer about. Let hope we build on this success.

Personally I think he redeemed himself with the last minute top-drawer save from Shearer.

Don't get me wrong, I was well pissed with him just after their equaliser - but that's the life of a goalie - villain to hero to ? in the space of 90 mins.

I reckon Dudek is on his way out of Liverpool. I think too many mistakes has made sure of that.

He does make a few annoying mistakes each season, thing is, until Kirkland stays fit for a whole season we will never know whether he is more or less mistake prone.

Now that Kirkland is 1st choice i cant see dudek being happy to sit on the bench.

He should be coming into his prime and i cant see him wasting it as backup for Kirkland.

Shame because he had such a great 1st season.

Jerzy says he intends to stay and fight for his spot:

I still think Dudek is better than most, and I'd like to keep him if he wants to stay.

I second that. He hasn't made as many horrendous gaffs as Sander did before he got the axe. And this season shows just how important it is to have two top class keepers.

We are very lucky to have two solid keepers are both capable of starting. Most teams in Europe, let alone in England, would kill to have a combo of the caliber of Dudek and Kirkland. Loook at our EPL rivals...
Manure-Howard and Carroll
Arse- Lehmann and Stack??
Chelski- Cudicini and Sullivan??, soon to be Cech
Newcastle- Given and ????

Although there are some goalies I would rather have as a first choice keeper, there are none that have a better combo than us.
