Unlucky defeat for your guys in the end
Fuerth Duesel.

, as you played pretty well and dominated the first 25 minutes (no wonder, when I see which Fürth players had to play on which position today). Thankfully, you missed 2-3 good scoring opportunities...;)
1860 really should have put their chances away. Must say, Reisinger was a perfect twat today. I heard from a friend auf die Bank that Reisinger was talking some real shiite on the field and had that henious flop in the box just before the PK. Too bad Hofmann was FAAAR too interested in patting Rukavina on the back to notice the corner had been taken and the guy was teeing up his goal.
http://www.mozartbrau.com/pab.jpg

The second half was pretty even (Fürth better, but still far from convincing), with 2 top chances on both sides.
Must disagree...the match was dead even, but by my tally until the goal was scored shots on goal were 14-14 even, but with 1860 having the more dangerous one. I WOULD say the last 10 mins was Fuerth. That's Wolf's fault. Everyone knows Fuerth leads the league in goals scored in the last 15 mins of a match. We should have packed in defense and midfield, but we didn't.

Turkish/Spanish youngster Sararer (who came in for the disappointing Takyi) scored with a sensational shot from 25 meters distance. The alleged 1:1 short time later apparently was offside (have to see the scene at DSF right now).
The goal might have been stopped had Hofmann spent less time patting Rukavina on the back and more time getting his defense set. That was BS what those guys did....walking back, not setting up fast, etc. Kudos to Fuerth for taking a quick kick and getting 1860 flat-footed.

The "equalizer" was offside. Not by much, but that's all it takes. Correct call. Though must say the ref missed the obvious yellow card in the first few minutes of play on the Fuerth fouling Aigner and that set a nasty tone throughout.

Wolf taking off Aigner and Bender, two of the best players and still with wind, was the BIGGEST mistake. I would have taken Schaeffler off.

PS: I'm going to post lots of really great pics for you (many of your players and even Stevic & Wolf from close range) later on.

Thanks for the pics...they are great!!!!!

Actually, not bad (http://www.bundesliga.de/de/liga2/tabelle/). 1860 stayed in place. Everyone within 7-10 points only moved slightly, if at all. So, we picked a good week to lose. Must say they looked hungry against a good team....gives me hope.

Wolf was sent to the stands again. My guess is the DFB is going to slap him with a 3 game ban. Pity because the ref really blew control of the match.

I love Wolf's passion, but you know as well as I do the coach has to keep his head even when he feels the referee is a total butthead.

I don't like Rafati myself, but I also didn't see where he was that bad. I've seen him have much worse matches.

I think the fair outcome of this match would have been a draw, but football and life aren't fair and 1860 didn't get the job done.

That's what I saw.

True. But he's also new as well. I think he is acting for the most part. Don't think the DFB is going to let him get away with his second trip to the Tribuene so easily.

IMHO he was a bit partial on some calls. In the first 30 mins he let stuff go on both sides, but then seemed to tighten the match later and seemed to call 1860 for most of the first calls on similar fouls. For me he lost it when Aigner was cut down in the first few minutes of the game and he did not give a caution for a CLEAR foul. After that, we was scrambling for control. One of the first things they teach you as a professional referee: always look for that moment to imprint your control on a game.

Agree. I don't blame the ref for the loss, just the game getting a bit out of control.

I blame Hofmann, Thorandt and Tobren for not organizing the defense IMMEDIATELY after Rukavina won the corner and Reisinger shamelessly tried to draw a PK. Everyone seemed to walk back into position while Fuerth put the ball back into play fast and struck quick. You can see Hoffman just never got a chance to set up and was off-footed on the goal. Good for Fuerth catching the Loewen off guard. That is what the game is about. You snooze, you lose. We snoozed.

Speaking of photos...here is a screen shot from the game which was very typical of our problem scoring; not just yesterday but all season. Just look how flat-footed Lauth and Schaefler are on what is an obvious shot by Aigner. That ball, like a few others that game, dribbled acrosss the open face of the goal with NO ONE to follow-up on the other side or in the middle. Both guys are a good 5 yards off the ball at this point. Nothing makes me madder than a lazy striker. Well, perhaps a lazy midfielder (see Roesler's performance).

Kicker correctly gave the Fuerth keeper a (1)...he played superb. If not for him that game goes 1-3 to 1860 easily. I think they got it right in ripping the Fuerth defense pretty much across the board for having a suck match.

Now to the 1860 scores:

M. Hofmann (2): Think this is right. He was very good, just not with it when the goal was scored.
Rukavina (3): Agree, he had a decent game, not outstanding though. Might have given him a half-tick higher due to saving the goal on the Reisigner challenge late in the game.
Thorandt (3): Agree, thought he played ok.
T. Hoffmann (4): Made a few bad judgements which gave Fuerth opportinities. Agree with a 4.
Schick (4): Disagree. This kid had a decent game and played well.
L. Bender (3): Agree, in fact not really sure why he came off as he was playing great.
Aigner (4,5): Disagree. He was having a VERY good match. Would have rated him 2,5 or 3 as he was giving trouble all day and covering for the lame-ass Roesler who seemed to be walking almost all the time.
Johnson (4): I think its a bit harsh. I think the guy played average. Do not recall any blunders that cost us and he did get up and down field VERY often.
Rösler (3): Someone is smoking crack giving him a 3. The only reason he touched the ball was because he was too damn lazy to run back and defend. So when the ball was won and played back up field, he was "open". I don't call that an average game. Might be fore him, but not in my book.
Lauth (3,5): Agree. Benny had a few sitters a guy like him should have finished.
Schäffler (5): This is harsh. Not saying the kid deserved a 3 but a 4 in my book. He had to come back and cover MORE than once do make up for Roesler. And he did not have a major blunder, so giving him a 5 is way harsh. He created a few chances and took a few shots as well. Hardly a 5.

What did he do wrong that Lauth did right? A few of Lauth's "chances" came from the direct actions of Schaefler. So why does Schaefler get screwed with a 5? He did not f#ck up marking like last week. In fact, he had about the same game. And yet WHAM, the kid gets screwed.

So tell me where Schaefler had a 5? I mean, that's a pretty wetched score. Only screwing his sister on the field gets him a 6 and he hardly did anything THAT bad.

Garry, I agree to disagree. If I list my reasons, it will turn into an argument and I don't have the time nor the desire to argue with you.

BTW, did I ever say I agree with Lauth's rating? Because I don't. He would have gotten a 4.5 or 5 from me too.

Did you see the private e-mail I sent you with an article??

Garry, I agree to disagree. If I list my reasons, it will turn into an argument and I don't have the time nor the desire to argue with you.
We won't argue.:D I know you disagree.

I am just going off of last week's discussion where he got a 4. You said, I think, that it was justified because he missed his mark. I agreed, but said he also had several close shots.

So now we come to THIS week where he has a similar game WITHOUT the f-up leading to a goal. Result? He gets a 5. Hoffman, who was obviously off-footed by the goal because he was congratulating Rukavina, gets a 2!!!! So I am just wondering, of course, if Kicker has it in for young talent (half joking here). Because that is one hell of a dichotomy.

Re the article: 1860 had a members meeting over the weekend where they decided to form a "commission" to look into the AA issue. This is nothing more than a rather pathetic attempt by management to placate the members in their ziel to find an alternative to the AA. The goal of the commission is to develop "Stadium Alternatives" which would include the Olyimpic stadium, Gruenwalder, and my personal favorite, moving to Unterhaching!!!!:mad: Quote below...
Als mögliche Alternativen zur Arena gelten das Olympiastadion und das Städtische Stadion an der Grünwalder Straße. Sogar ein Umzug nach Unterhaching soll bei den Planungen eine Rolle spielen.
To illustrate what a spineless douchebag Stoffer is, here is his quote: "Perhaps the project group will come to the conclusion that staying at the Arena is the best solution."

Geee, really???? And they PAY this guy for this advice?!?!?!?!? I mean, the choice have been for a while now:

Stay at AA.
Move to the Oly.
Move to GW, get less revenue and try to renovate later.
Build new but come up with our own money.
Where is there anything new here?

You are referring to last week for consistency purposes, right?

But you need to know one thing. There isn't a "kicker" group who does these ratings. It is solely whichever reporter or reporting team is covering the match.

This is why you might see a lack of consistency.

In this case, the reporters were Christian Biechele and Axel Heiber.

I guess they didn't see what you saw in Schaeffler's performance and they probably both have hard-ons for Benny Lauth. ;)

And you know Kicker doesn't have it in for young talent.

I'll leave it at that.

Nothing new and I think the only other real option besides the AA is moving back to Olympiastadion.
