No.....you "have" to be in Germany because of work/family. Otherwise you would be so totally shunned.

LB... I would have sought her out, but immediately after the match, I had a date with my buddy at Fliegerbraeu in Feldkirchen for the best Weissbier I have ever had and perhaps the best meal of my trip.

Varying preferences and tasts, Garry. I also enjoyed Schneider Weisse, Andechser's Weissbier, and a few others.

LOL....naw, there are some things that are facts and not debateable topics:

Heidi Klum is hot.
1860 will always invent a crisis every 2 years.
Bayern will always be arrogant.
Landon Donovan will always get abused.
The best Weiss Bier is brewed by either Prinz Regent Luitpold, Thun & Taxis, Augustiner, Schneider or Andechs. :D
Seriously, my issue with Fliergerbrau is that it is a contract brew which is the EXACT SAME bier under their other 3-4 labels....the HB Traunstein. Its good, don't get me wrong, just not the best Weiss "aller Zeiten".

I love Weiss bier. I have been keeping notes (seriously, for a book and for my future life as a brewer) on just about every Weiss bier in Bavaria. I have notes going back to 1987 along with a Weissbier glass collection in the neighborhood of over 100+. I probably know more about Weiss bier than I do about my wife. I love it THAT much.;)

I agree with the first several comments, of course.

I am right there with you... it is my favorite style and one of which I cannot get enough. I agree on the Augustiner/Schneider/Andechs comment. I never had the T&T or Prinz Regent Luitpold versions.

Those beers are great and everything, but seriously - the Belgian beers are better. Do not attempt to argue the subject. Just dream of the Belgians, but they do not have anything like Heidi Klum.

Belgium is the Disneyland of Biers. They are a totally different subject....and technically NOT bier at all.;) At least, to purists.:p

Watch out for this kid....Mathias Fetch (http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/spieler/46179/mathias-fetsch/profil.html). Wolf just signed him to the II's and he is immediately bringing him to the dance in Fuerth. He worked with the kid in the Hoffenheim system back when Wolf was there. Rumor is this kid is the next bomb....from 1860's perspective. Given our track record of finding good young talent to sharpen so other teams can move into the 1.BL, I expect this kids will have a fun time.

Rumor is he was brought in b/c either Schaeffler or Lauth are on their way out. Appears inquiries have been made from other 2.BL teams about Lauth and there is persistent talk about Schaeffler moving to a team in the north.:eek:

Kick off in less than 12 hours! Just got back from the FC Dallas game watching Steve Purdy give up a free kick to Blanco which he converted....1-3 in the end, but the kids had fun.;)

No, they don't have anything like Heidi, but I'd settle for this:

Ugh... Not good, yet good at the same time. Lauth and Schaeffler have never seemed to find the meshing rhythm together. If Sechzig can move one of them (hopefully not both) this could allow Fetch to start to make a name for himself with the first club.

FC Dallas played hard. I am still "trying" to get the MLS game. I know the pace is a whole hell of a lot different, that is for sure. When Philadelphia gets their club (2010), I will have to make the occasional return trip home to see them play in their football-specific stadium.

I will call 1-2 win for 1860 today. But then again, I am the consumate optimist.

I never argue about women. Bier, yes...women, no. That's Bier=yes, women=no.

The fact that Wolf is bringing the kid STRAIGHT into the first team without having even trained with the U23s and jumping in front of Hosiner and others makes me think he sees something REALLY special.

You and Footy can meet up there. :D He's a Philly boy too. As for FCD, they flat-out sucked. Apart from Coopers 60m strike that caught the keeper off guard....and he should have had it anyway....FCD was plain sucky. Took 73 mins for the team to even have a probling run. No flanking, nothing. What pissed me off most was people were literally streaming into their seats 35 mins into the game. Had to move so the kids could see. Sucked.

I did not know footy was a Philly guy... Cool!

The MLS is still trying to work out the kinks. The quality of the product on the field is not the best. Hence, that is why a USL club (Charleston) can beat MLS clubs in the Cup competition in the States. Just not a great quality of football. If Sechzig were in the MLS, they would be at or near the top based solely on pace and skill.

[unshun] My thoughts on MLS

Individual skills are generally comparable.

Coaching is much worse on the whole.

Tactical awareness is very low in MLS, due to coaching

Depth is a massive issue, as once you get past the 14th player - well good luck.

Where are the pics? I'd like to unshun you permanently, but without the pics I'm afraid I can't [re-shun]

Unlucky defeat for your guys in the end, as you played pretty well and dominated the first 25 minutes (no wonder, when I see which Fürth players had to play on which position today). Thankfully, you missed 2-3 good scoring opportunities...;)

The second half was pretty even (Fürth better, but still far from convincing), with 2 top chances on both sides. Fortunately for Fürth, Lauth missed from 10 meters totally alone in front of Lobouè (great save from the goalie after a terrible mistake from defender Biliskov) ... and just a few minutes later, the Turkish/Spanish youngster Sararer (who came in for the disappointing Takyi) scored with a sensational shot from 25 meters distance. The alleged 1:1 short time later apparently was offside (have to see the scene at DSF right now).

Here's the "Kicker" match report:

PS: I'm going to post lots of really great pics for you (many of your players and even Stevic & Wolf from close range) later on.

PS: 3,500-4,000 Löwen fans among the 14,000 crowd.
