And so, in an intriguing twist on mein Urlaub, a good friend of mine in Herbertsfelden offered for me to use her flat some months ago. I heard nothing of it after that. Today, I get an email from her with details on how to get the keys to her flat, which is empty right now. Not that there is a BIG difference from Isartorplatz (the flat) and Hackerbrucke (where I was going to be staying), but still...
Am I any closer to Gruenwalderstrasse? LOL

Dude, are you kidding me? That's like asking if Jennifer Aniston is hotter than Jim Carey? (note: question only to be answered by straight guys).
Isartorplatz is:
Just a short stumble from Tal, thus making it impossible for you to walk home without stopping by the Weissebrauhaus for a bier.
Is MUUUCH closer to Gruenwalderstrasse.
Is a short piss from maxilianstrasse and the nice coffee houses where the Bayern players hang out; you can srop by and piss on their cars.
Has more hot chicks and schicki-micki bars per capita than any other place in Muenchen.
Is a short hop to Viktraulienmarkt for a good Loxsemmi and a Fanta.
I am really beginning to hate you and your cur'sed trip.;)

I think I'm starting to hate goindownsouth as well. We should all boycott him and put him on our ignore lists.
just kidding :p
I can't wait for his reports and pictures. If you see Sarah from above walking around, well, you know, take a couple of pics for us.

SARAH!!! She might be the best one all season.
She does look like a hotter version of Ann Coulter. Good work.
mAnn Coulter and "hot" in the same sentence?
Oh, I'm going to puke......

Weisses Brauhaus? Never heard of it... ;-)
And, to get this somewhat back on topic, I found out this morning that I have tickets for the FSV Frankfurt match as well! This will be excellent!

I presume the easiest way for me to get to Gruenwalderstrasse is the Tram (25, I think) from Rosenheimer Platz to the training grounds. Is there a better way from Klenzestrasse? I may need a day or two to get the kinks worked out of my sense of direction. ;-)

Damn that was good stuff. Love the Office.
Tell GoindownSouth that I hope he has a nice trip. I can't do the Un-shun/Re-shun as well and would just confuse the issue.

I need a new job and I need something that gets me to Europe a couple of times a year. Any suggestions?

I work two jobs, like a dog, so I have two nickels to rub together for stuff like this. It is no fun sometimes, but I have to tell you, I am anxious as all hell for this trip! I cannot wait to see 1860!

i'm going to try this
[un-shun] You will have an awesome time. Getting that flat for the trip is so huge! But as they say, once you go, you will go again.
You picked the perfect time to go, cheap flights.
You better take a ton of pics, I only need a few of the games, but the sites, the flat, etc

Well, well, well....
So, for those following along at home, you have no doubt read the bull shiite going on at the club where the club's "presidium" fired Stefan Reuter and Marco Kurz, but before hand had been discussing the club's business and sporting issues (the domain of Reuter and Kurz) with Micki The Back-Stabbing Bastard" Stevic MONTHS before firing the two. In case you don't know how 1860 is structured, let me explain as it will be necessary for the final comment:
1860 has several distinct entities:
Members: These are people who pay their club dues to belong to 1860. In return they get access to the facilities of the club, can play sports at the club, etc. Think of it as a gym membership which has teams and sportind departments attached to it.
e.V. or "Club": This is the club itself, not just the football section, but the business of the entire sporting entity. There is an elected board, called the "Aufsichtsrat" which is elected by the members (see above). Legally it is a non-profite association.
Aufsichtsrat: The elected body who runs the club overall.
Presidium: This is a most controversial body. They are elected by the Balkanized fan-base of 1860. There are two competing and rival fan-bases, the ARGE and the Pro-1860. To say that they work together would be to say that India and Pakistan are in a loving, trusting relationship. These two entities fight to elect "their" people to the Presidum. The Presidium sits on the Limited Partnership's board (see below) and is designed to have an advice-and-consent funtion for the business entity, but the articles of incorproration are speficially designed to keep their know-nohting noses out of the business and sporting end of 1860.
Limited Partnership: Called a KGaA, 1860 formed this several years ago, at the request of Reuter, in order to put a firewall between the business and sporting managenet side of 1860 and the "club" side of 1860. The Geschaeftsfuerher or business director, is the ONLY role in the organization that can negotiate business deals for 1860. In fact, it is WHOLLY seperate (by design) to avoid the type of megalomania we say with Wildmoser and the utter gross incompetence we are seeing now. Legally it is a partnership where the head of the KGaA (Reuter) is one partner and the e.V. (in the person of the Presidium) is the other partner. The "shares" of the KGaA are owned by the club.
Now, why is this little lesson necessary? Well, for years, to say 1860 had blurred lines with regard to their business dealings and management would be to say that the Mona Lisa is just a painting. Over the last 40 years there has been gross mismanagement, and in some cases outright criminal activitiy, that has put the club at risk. In comes Reuter. He develops this solution to put a firewall between the various entities so that the club's financials are more transparent and that business can be conducted by those who know something about it. But after putting all this together, what happens? The freakin' Presidum fires Reuter (or sends him on vacation) while at the same time negotiating business deals behind his back. All very much prohibited by the legal entities set up AND APPROVED by 1860 itself.
So NOW, the very numb-nuts that fired Reuter, hired the back-stabbing bastard Stevic to replace him as sporting direction, AND having hired the douche-bag Stoffers to replace him as business manager, have released this statement here (http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kicker.de%2Fnews%2Ffussball%2F2bundesliga%2Fstartseite%2Fartikel%2F505338%2F&sl=de&tl=en&history_state0=). In short, the statement reads that all have agreed to go back to their own sandboxes and place nice.
If ANYONE buys that bull $hit I will gladly sell you a bridge in Brooklyn.

My friend in Munich emails me all of the time, apologizing for ever getting me mixed up with 1860. I could not see supporting another club. Although another Bayerische freund is a supporter of Greuther Fuerth. I know nothing of them other than their colors, etc.

So I am reviewing the Weisses Brauhaus menu, in mental and physical preparation for the 1860 match, and am stuttering at the wealth of choices...
Schwarzer und weißer Pressack aus der eigenen Metzgerei
in Essig und Öl... Obatzda... I mean WOW... I will be screaming my heart out at the AA after all of this great food and drink!
