Jack Cafferty is the news version of Brent Musburger. That CNN morning show is tv water torture just like Fox & Friends. WTF is Soledad O'Brien doing on that piece of crap?
O'Reilly grates but I suppose that's his shtick.
Dan Rather looks rather humorless (pun intended).

Mark Sheilds and Albert Hunt on Capitol Gang.
Eleanor Clift on MacLaughlin Group.
Paul Bagala on Crossfire.

Tucker Carlson
Robert Novak
Paul Begala
James Carville
Is it needless to say I get bored listening to Crossfire. These chumps tow the party lines too much rather than discuss what is actually right. I don't think these guys could handle too many questions from audience people, at least I would like to have a crack at sticking it to all of them just once. Screw it, the entire program sucks.

Wow. No accounting for taste, I guess. In tv journalism today, there is really only Moyer, and then a bunch of pretenders.
The talking heads for the four major networks are all stooges, especially Jennings and Brokaw. Rather is the best of that sad lot.
The worst, however, are the political "experts" like Wolf Blitzer, Judy Woodruff, and that ugly bald guy on CNN. Never heard them mention policy issues at all: total horse race coverage, and they can't even do THAT well.

Bill O'Reilly needs to be drawn and quartered. So does Will.....the guy on "Meet the Press" or whatever who always wears a bowtie and glasses. I can't remember his name. He's good to listen to when you're having trouble sleeping.

24-hour news channels aren't too far behind. National evening news shows still do a semi-adequate job, but the substance-to-crap ratio is declining.
These days, if you want news, you need to turn off the TV and learn to read. Sucks, but that's corporate ownership of the media for you.

1. Sam Donaldson. Self-serving, self-important baffoon.
2. The people on the Fox morning show. A group of not terribly bright people sitting around talking about stuff they clearly know nothing about. Hmm. Just like work.
3. Anyone in a bow tie.
Re Crossfire -- Four pundits yelling at once isn't news. It's slapstick.

Or, if you can't completely wean yourself from the teat of television, try the BBC World News. I learn more about what's really happening in the US from that than from any American news source. Plus, they actually acknowledge that news-worthy events occur on other continents.

I am a television news director (at a 24-hour local news station, nonetheless!), so I have a list a feakin' mile long. The thing is, the people you don't see can be much worse than the anchors. And it's for reasons worse than political stance. Reporters can be pretty cocky and arrogant, too, mostly because they think they should be network anchors without paying the dues. A lot of the "talent" you see treat underlings like inferior beings. Having said that, my girlfriend is an anchor and she's great!

The Canadian pic for me would be Peter Mansbridge.
It looks like that he polished his bald spot quite well.

Now, I realize there are practical and bottom-line reasons for this, but it's just odd that they can be called journalists without writing a single word, the very core of journalists.
But it also makes me laugh when they stumble as they do from time to time.
