phillipe mexes has been playing very well as of late for roma, more than usual. why is he never on the nt? is it true he and domenech have a personal feud?

Have been watching our team lately? He's has been getting regular call ups since the euros, and has been pants on a number of occasions. I still think he should start though :D

unless he redeems himself (austria game), getting in the starting 11 won't be easy.

it's true that he was pitiful against austria but if anything that gave him and domenech to ease any tension that may have existed. mexès stated that the loss was his fault and domenech came to his defense in no uncertain terms.
the list for argentina is out tomorrow and my guess is he'll be on it.

Why is that a good thing!? I may be wrong, but it doesn't seem like he's lighting up the Serie A. I don't watch the league, but I follow french sporting news, and there hasn't been much mention of his exploits.

c'mon thats too much don't you think, he wasn't creating buzz in france either, i wouldn't expect him to do that in italy. he has improved as a player and in maturity. playing among high profile players has made has given him experience

Don't take my comment as me not liking him. Quite the contrary I am a big Menez fan, (though from what I hear he's a bit of a con :D ). I just was asking basically if he's been playing at a high level for Roma. He was creating a buzz with the youth teams, and I thought he was considered one of France's upcoming stars. He fell off the radar when Monaco started playing poorly, and I think his development was stifled by the lack of direction and proper nuturing vets there. I'm glad he made the move to Roma, but I would of prefered a Spanish team picked him up. High level but not too insanse, where he could get decent playing time, like an Atletico or a Villarreal.

Menez has been doing fine for Roma. Not a starter when everyone is fit (usually a Baptista - Totti - Vucinic) trident, but he scored a few key goals when we had injuries. Very talented player.

menez didn't leave an indelible impression as a bleuet either.
what did strike me watching him against bordeaux was what a whiner, diver, petty fouler and all around devious little spiv he seems to have become.

what is sissoko's status on the french nt? does he get regular playing time? i like his style of play because he's tough and is doing well at juve.

Mexès can be a rough player. I suspect Ray tells him to be super-careful and not get a card easily, and that's why he seems almost timid with Les Bleus at times.

his nickname was legbreaker. his credibility for telling a player to take it easy would be somewhat lower than the marianas trench!

Sure, but perhaps he's realized what was tolerated back then in Ligue 1 won't be tolerated now in a WC qual.

The fact that he's lyonnais and that he used to don that amazing moustache is one of his few endearing qualities.

Raymond Domenech, 9 septembre 1989
after that, all can be forgiven him. all.
