hey, if anybody has any suggestions to this, i'm open
I'm 14 and i wanna go pro. My team is a team that is all from one high school, but plays club. We've taken 2nd in state now, next to a team that comes from 9 high schools. My team practices 5 days a week in the summer, 2 1/2 hours a practice. I try to get 1,000+ touches on the ball a day, but its hard when its winter here. Theres been 6 inches of snow on the ground for almost 3 weeks, so i have to keep it in my room, other than when i go to the 2002 olympic arena and play indoor.
I want to go pro, and think i have the skill if I keep working like i do, but i have limited access to $ and coaching.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Hints, Diets, Camps, Success Stories, Failure Stories? I need any and all help i can get. I've still got a few years, and I'm hoping to make the BYU team for college (semi-pro). Any Training suggestions, sites, its all needed. Thanks a ton
Im 14 and i am trying to get into an academy and i have been told by many i have what it takes and best advice i got was:
. set urself targets such as 1.be the best player in your team.
2. best in league
3. best in an academy
Say a team m8 is going for a jog u must double what he does etc to achieve this and set ur self targets and keep moving up the leagues.

appleCORR what do you mean by: dont believe in your own hype ?
im 18 now and personaly think its impossible to become pro or semie pro, just because im too old..
but if you are young (lets say 14) and you are at a good level now there is a good chance youll be scouted.
you've to make personal goals.

does your high school team suck so bad or are u just amazing?? i'll probably play jv this year and varsity next year... check your PM's.

No my varsity team doesnt suck we have won districts and made it to the quarter-finals of states. In my state I am more of an on the bubble player because I am not huge (5' 1) and not yet fully developed. But i play for one of the top teams in my state and start. I am not a superstar but unlike all of the kids that i play with and against i play all year round and train w/ a 18 year old that is going to one of the top ten division 1 colleges in the nation. So i have a lot more touches and game experience.

Same here i am 5'1 and my b-day is 10-17-89, I do play for one of the top 5 teams in Colorado and I dont always start b/c i am not fast enough but to compensate for that i have good field vision, we played on of your states teams they were the Advantage SC in the u-15 age group we played them in the Colorado Rush Open which we won. I also play varsity and Jv they let me play both but because of my height i didnt start in Varsity.

Since i posted that i grew a bit (5'4) 115lbs. I finished with 8 goals 14 assists in varsity and all county 2nd team (second freshman ever- the other went to Old Dominion on scholarship). How did you do in school ball.

Actually the only reason i wanted to be pro is the fortune and glory. and by the way, one of u said that you wont go pro if ur only into the cash, well your wrong. Cause I made it. So there.
And by the way kid, if u wanna go pro, it is EXTREMELY important that u find someone with connections to overseas clubs, and then suck up to them and all that. And also, skill itsef will definately not make it. people don't realize that when getting scouted, fitness is more important than skill.

right now I am setting my sights on playing for BYU. Baby steps, eh? (although that isn't really a baby step, and it has always been my dream). Our freshman team is playing in the sophmore league soon, I'll try to keep you guys updated, and no, just because I'm only playing on the freshman team doesn't mean that I'm not good enough to make JV, they are trying to keep our team together for 4 years so that we will have an even better shot at the state champs when we're seniors. No one from our age is being accepted to JV or Vars.

My next door neighbor is the head coach for BYU PDL. (Chris Watkins). I'll put in a good word for ya ;) He has mentioned your team a few times, too, so your fully being noticed.
My dream is the same, only i want to just play @ college level for the BYU womens team. Best wishes, and good luck :)

oh, ya, one other thing, if u want to play BYU PDL--GO TO THE SOCCER CAMPS THAT BYU HOLDS IN THE SUMMER!!. that's when the coaches do alot of their scouting. i went to one, and the very first day, they had all of the current BYU players who were helping w/the camp (men's PDL & women's) come to the front. Then they had them all raise their hands if they had attended one of the BYU soccer camps when they were our age. over 1/2 of em raised their hands. :)

My aunt played soccer when she was in college (on a stroke of luck) and she credits a lot of it to the letters including profiles that she sent out to prospective colleges. Since my dream has always been to go to BYU, she encouraged me to do the same. Is it too early being my freshman year, and when i start sending them, what should I include in them?.
