Ugh.

This is a must-win match. We cannot lose. A draw would be bad, but likely.

The scenes at Anfield will be good in a win, but they will be bad in a loss. I can imagine boos will rain down on the team and the manager if a poor performance/loss happens.

Anyways.

My team for this match would be as follows:

--------------------------Reina-----------------------------
Arbeloa-------Carragher---------Agger------------Aurelio
Kuyt-----------Alonso-----------Gerrard--------------Riera
----------------Torres------------Keane---------------------

Subs - Cavalieri, Dossena, Skrtel, Mascherano, Lucas, Benayoun, Babel

LOL! That's not what it will be...I am going to take a nap and not think about today's match.

In.I suppose..!

They made hard work of their game today but then we've been making hard work of our games this years as well.
Which team wants to score the most will win this one.

I posted this before I saw our match score today....Now I'm not so sure....I think now that we'll marmalize Chelsea.

Well judging by the decisions Rafa made today, here is the team I think he is going to put out.

------------------Reina-----------------
Arbeloa---Carra-----Skrtel---Dossena
-----------Plessis----Masch------------
Gerrard--------Alonso------------NEZ
-----------------Riera------------------

------------Reina
Arbs---Carra---Agger------Aurelio
-------Mash-------Xabi
Kuyt---------SG---------Riera
-----------Keane

Stick to what got us the victory at the Bridge. We won without Torres and if things aren't going our way we can sub him on for Keane. Nobody knows or understands what is going on in Rafa's mind, but with all eyes on us on Sunday we can't afford any more dropped points, especially at home. Let's continue our good form against the Big 3 like we did during the first half of the season.

Rafa, Rafa, Rafa...

What will you do...your mind confuses the fans more than a Where's Wally book!

Reina
Degen Carra Agger Dossena
Benayoun Gerrard Lucas Babel
Kuyt Torres

Subs: Itandje :o, Arbs, Skrtel, Masch, Alonso, Riera, Keane

That's what Rafa will do ;)...give Degen his first start, play Agger who isnt match fit, play Yossi who continues to disappoint as well as playing Lucas and Stevie together in midfield to have as little defensive protection as possible...although Dirk will be making runs from next to Nando all the way back into Carra's face. Also Babel will be given another opportunity to impress...actually he will start every match until the end of the season to hopefully impress...Riera needs a rest. Keep Reina, Carra, Stevie and Torres in to make the team look respectable. And his reason for all this...to intimidate Scolari with his power-packed bench!

:p...seriously...

Reina
Arbs Skrtel Carra Doss
Kuyt Alonso Gerrard Riera
Keane/Masch Torres

Subs: Cavalieri, Agger, Aurelio, Masch/Keane, Lucas, Yossi, Babel

Yossi didn't disappoint against Wigan, in fact he was the only player who showed any ounce of creativity.

What I'd like to see against Chel$ki;

-----------------------Reina------------------------
Arbeloa-------Skrtel------------Carragher------Aurelio
-----------------Alonso------------------------------
Benayoun------------------Gerrard--------------Riera
----------------Keane----------Torres---------------

Subs: Cavalieri, Hyypia, Agger, Lucas, Babel, Kuyt, Mascherano.

What I think we'll see against Chel$ki;

-----------------------Reina------------------------
Arbeloa-------Skrtel------------Carragher------Aurelio
--------------------Mascherano---------------------
Kuyt--------------------Alonso------------------Riera
-------------------Gerrard---------------------------
-----------------------------Torres------------------

Subs: Cavalieri, Hyypia, Agger, Lucas, Babel, Benayoun, Keane.

Rafa will bring Lucas on when we are down 1-0 with 20mins to goand chasing the game. Benayoun or Babel will come on with 5mins to go. Keane will sit on the bench all game with a frustrated look on his faee. Chel$ki win 1-0. :o

Even though we take it one game at a time...Rafa has definitely been planning for this since before the 1st derby, just like all good managers do.

He ought to have played against Everton but that's gone now.

That is our best side, no matter what the experts say. Although I fear you predictions about Lucas (although I'll be heretical and say that Lucas wasn't that bad against Wigan), Keane and Babel may turn out to be true  Crickey, but this has been a bitch of a month.

Even though we take it one game at a time...Rafa has definitely been planning for this since before the 1st derby, just like all good managers do.

While he was planning, we dropped important points.

Sure, we may win this one and get 3 points.

But 3 points < 4 points we dropped to Stoke and Wigan
