I'll start this off by saying that I have been shocked by Rovers dealings (or lack thereof) so far in January. True enough, the money is not in abundance as it is with some, but the fact that it is obvious that something needs to change, yet no moves are being made, and seemingly none are on the horizon, leaves me feeling rather uncomfortable regarding the rest of the season. For a team whose safety is only by a couple of points, one would think that a move would be made. With the exception of the McBride deal which fell through, the only sniff of action was the bid turned down by Leicester for Izzet. We're letting in 2 seemingly every match, the midfield is thin now with the Ferguson injury and Dino Baggio going to Ancona, and we need cover up front. Please, get something going Blackburn!

Just to make it clear ... TheDouble supports Spurs. As a Spurs fan, certainly there were things I would have liked to see, like bringing in Van Bommel, Diego and/or Milner, but seeing as a new manager is arriving in the summer, I'm not too upset about it. Of course, if Portsmouth could get Donovan on loan, it would have been nice if Spurse could have gotten him.

As a Blackburn fan, I wanted them to shore up the defense. Obviously, they didn't do that. I wanted them to add some youth and team speed. They didn't do that either.

we did get Michael Gray today from Sunderland, though I'm not sure how much of an improvement he is over what we already have in the back.

lol Aston Villa need new faces in every part of the pitch except up front (we've got a lot of strikers, surely one of them will be able to find their form next to Angel if the midfield could create enough chances).
But midfield has the priority. Villa doesn't have a Bassegio, Van Bommel or a Ballack. That's the main problem I think.

Villa

HELL YEAH!!

Villa bought one player this transfer window, a quality midfield anchorman, and we got him on the cheap!!, yes im talking a world class midfielder Nolberto Solano, when he made is debut a few days againts Leicester, we hammered them 5-0, Villa on the up, with this new buy?

to touch on the subject of Blackburn's dealings again, I'm curious to see how Jonathan Stead pans out. He's been on the mark with Huddersfield to the tune of 18 goals this season, but then again, that was against Div. 3 opponents. Has anybody seen this kid play?

I have seen him play a couple of times for Huddersfield this season, he's an allround striker, good in the air, decent on the floor, can score goals, but nothing remarkable. 1 million quid is about right. He's not the brightest prospect in the lower divisions by any means, but he's got some potential.

Yeah, he stood out quite nicely against Chelsea. Looks like Gresko's appearances will be few and far between. Nothing against Gresko, but ever since the Arsenal game I still have the image of Kolo Toure making him his bitch burned in my mind.
