I'm an American visiting London for first time from Feb. 11-17 and want to attend my first Premiership game. It looks like Aston Villa is traveling to Fulham on the 11th. Is it still possible to get tickets, and if so, what's the best way? Are there any other games in or around London during that period?
Any advice for this newbie would be appreciated.

I took a QUICK look at www.fulham-fc.co.uk and it would appear that tickets are still available. Go there and see if they'll take a booking.

Don't know who you support, or if any of these teams are playing home matches during that time, but there a quite a few teams in the London area.
Arsenal
Fulham
Tottenham
Chelsea
QPR
*there are others, but I cant remember any others right now

Clubs in Greater London:
Premiership : Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Charlton, Spurs
Div 1: Millwall, West Ham, Crystal Palace
Div 2: QPR, Brentford
Div 3: Leyton Orient
Clubs less than an hour by train (not counting travel to the relevant London terminus and from the towns station to its ground):
Reading, Luton, Watford, Ipswich, Colchester, Gillingham, Wycombe.
Tickets should be easy to get at Fulham and any of the non-Premiership grounds.

Barnet vs Shrewsbury on February 14: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/fixtures?league=ENG.5&cc=5901&theDate=20040214
Not quite as glamorous as Arsenal, but good seats will be easier to come by.

Its generally fairly easy getting tickets for Fulham at home- esspecially against Villa. I would recomment getting tickets before hand though.
Fulham's is probably the worst Premiership London ground to go to though- if possible try and go to White Heart Lane, Highbury, etc. although it would obviously be difficult for then.

Get your self down to Fulham v Villa, tickets still on sale, bought mine on line this week, Grounds a dump but the footballs good, and its only 20 mins on the tube from central London to White City.
Be warned do not go to Bentford.

Whats wrong with Bentford?
And curious, why does it appear that its easy to come across tickets for a Fulham home game, when in fact they have a great Prem team? Is there no strong fan base or is it due to sub-par grounds?

"Whats wrong with Bentford?"
That was a little windup for the Brentford fella. But if your option is Brentford v QPR then I doubt you would get tickets.

To give you the long answer to this would take a book, but in short we are a team that has spent 30 years in the lower divisions resulting in a dwindling fan base.
Promoted to the prem we started to build our support back up to what it once was when those in charge of the club decided to leave our home ground and play at QPR.
Many of the older origanal fans decided to boycot games untill we returned home(we are next year). Some, like me. grit our teeth and endure the most uncomfortable seats in English football.
The Villa game is an evening game and should not be sold out. But it may be hard to buy a ticket on the night so book in advance.
Whatever game you choose enjoy your trip and hope you pick a good`n

By rights I should slap you silly.
No one has a go at the Loft without some serious recriminations afterwards.
I know you're miffed you didn't get some of Mo's millions but stomach your envy.
Enjoy, this season's derby with Rangers, you won't have it next season.
Same goes for Biffo.
Awww "ground's a dump" well you must be one of those wonderful people that like the new grounds in all their bland glory.
Nevermind though, they've not nice seats and the toilets are good. Not to mention the prawn sandwiches.

I had a good a Loftus Rd on past experiences! And on the two occassions i have seen us play at Loftus Rd- i havent managed to see one of the goals due to the crap design of the ground! The first few rows of the upper teir on the away end over hang the goal line ensuring you cant see the bloody goal!
On those experience my comments of "crappy loftus rd" are quite deserved!
I'll look forward to 14th feb- and our away trip to the crap ground next season!

Whatever you do, don't go to Milwall and sit in the away section. They like to throw coins at you. The scene after the match was a nightmare. Women with children were terrorised.
This was my first English match and I quickly learned why they are the most hated club.
Made for a great story when I returned to NYC, though...

I did quite like Craven Cottage, but i do think Loftus Road isn't a good place to go to.
That's the nicest way to say that.
