Does anyone have any that they are willing to sell? I'm looking to start off my collection and am looking for any. I probably should have decided to start this collection before my parents spent two weeks in england and wales this summer. Oh well, grandparents should be going back sometime soon.
And-
Could anyone who is using picture wire to hang the scarves take close-up pictures of the brackets on the scarves and how they attach to the wire?
thanks

What do you want - what do you have to offer?
i have pretty much none to offer...::grimaces::
but i will take your dupes...if you're so inclined.
same goes to everyone else.

Hey, I decided just a few weeks ago that I would start collecting scarves (I had already started without thinking about it) and then I realize Bigsoccer had a collectables forum, so here I am.
my collection:
-MetroStars 2001 and 2002
(I just ordered 2003)
-Empire Supporters Club 1999, 2000, 2001
-West Ham United (x3)
-Holland
-SC Heerenveen (2000 Champions League)
-Cambuur Leeuwarden
I guess it's obvious that I plan on collecting Metro, WHU and Dutch League scarves.
The one scarf I'm actively looking for is the MetroStars/McDonalds scarf that was handed out at a Metro playoff game in either '96 or '98. I was in college at the time and was unable to attend the match. It someone wants to part with theirs... :)

Just thought I'd put this here...a few of the guys had been asking me about getting a Florentia Viola scarf (the new team that has replaced AC Fiorentina here in Florence) so I finally got it taken care of and will be getting them and sending them off in a few weeks.
If anyone is interested in one, check out this thread http://bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33869
Cheers

I started out collecting scarves from the 3 teams I follow Italy, AC Milan, and the Quakes. At first I would buy anything and everything, but now after my last 2 trips to Italy I just stick to the Summer style scarves, silk screened polyester. Anybody else collect these?

I have a Man U Champions scarf that is silkscreened. A buddy from my old job got me one while she was on business at the London office. The material tend to be very light compared to the more common woolknit version that is widely around.
The knitted/jacquard/wool scarves are more popular though a summer scarf still would be just as good as the ones just mentioned.

This would be the ones (other than the store here) to refer to right now, though it's more for a resource.
http://www.subsidesports.com
http://www.soccerbox.com
http://www.kitbag.com
http://www.soccerscarf.com
and that old standby ebay (http://www.ebay.com)
There's got to be some more. Cheers!

The good news: The Courage had scarves for sale at the UNC/Courage match last weekend.
The bad news: $20 a pop. I'll wait until they go on sale.

Club Quake is selling scarves for $14.95--members get them at discounted price of $12.95. Contains the Quakes logo with the Club Quake/Casbah moniker and the make is acrylic like the MLS/WUSA variety. Very nice collectable as well.
Cheers!

Dam,
I just bought the generic San Jose scarf off MLSnet.com

Either or it's still the same make. The distinct differences are (1) The Club Quake/Casbah scarf has the Quakes logo/star while the generic Quakes scarf has the 2001 MLS Cup logo and title "2001 MLS Cup Champions"--presuming those are still being sold on the market.
Still, both are suited to wear during the games or to hang on the wall. And, the Club Quake scarves are limited edition--the stock are in the "mid to high hundreds"...
Cheers!
