Just saw a small blurb in Sporting Life that said Newcastle were set to buy Smith from Leeds, and then loan him back to Leeds for the remainder of the season. Any of you know anything about that?

I've seen it mentioned on a couple different sites as well coach...How valid this really is, is beyond me. Uncle Bobby just played down our links to both Smith and Gudjohnsen by saying we've got plenty of quality depth at forward. We've also been linked with making a move for Michael Bridges with Andy Griffin being offered as part of the deal.

So how many strikers does SBR want in the squad?
With Dyer playing up front now I would think we have it covered.
Shearer
Dyer
Bellamy (when he's back)
Ameobi
Chopra.

Exactly.
If Chops is at all close to the real thing, we're overloaded.
Besides, who wants an ill-tempered little *#*#*#*#er like Smith? We've already got Bellamy.
