A little help??

I'm dating a new girl and I've convinced her to go with me to the pub on Saturday for the FA Cup match (she fully understands sports, but never got into footie before). She's intelligent enough to understand how great and important the old school rivalries are, so I have my eye on the derby next weekend. What I need from you guys is a link to some short essay, article or story about the history of the Merseyside derby and what it means to the city of Liverpool. Maybe a page or two long at the most, although she is a big reader, so longer isn't too bad.

I tried to cheat on google but I couldn't find anything worth while. I've been to more Derby games than I can remember, "Fantastc atmosphere"
I was in one crowd at Goodison in the '50's (Yes I know) when we had 80,000 there. (I got my hearing back by the following thursday)
Our house was split 'cos me granddad played for Everton in the '30's (When they had a decent team)

I just wanted to say Props to you for getting your girlfriend involved. Im in the process of doing the same thing right now, and its a pain in the ass.

Seems like whenever I try to get any girl interested in soccer at all, they don't take much interest. Not sure why that is. I don't think I ask for too much, just to know who the Fire and United are, and a couple of guys on each side. You'd think they'd be interested in guys running around in tight shirts and shorts. :p
