Yuck the Fankees man. Hope CC is a bust and Burnett get injured like he aways does, and Texiera turns into a diva to make their team chemistry even more diasterous. haha:D

My fav Mets were the 84-86 Mets. They never disappointed me! Remember Gooden's curveball?

Oakland should be a nice sleeper pick for the AL West this year. I think the Angels still have enough talent to hold them off but if the A's young arms step up, they could make a run at the division. Nomar at this point will just be a bench bat, though. He can really only play 3B and 1B and they have enough 1B types already.

I like the A's a lot to - although im curious on Hollidays power numbers in that park - they might drop.

Could be a break out year for Cust! Will be interesting for sure the West.

I think Holliday's numbers might drop a bit but he has been a pretty consistent on the home/road splits the past few years. Going to that park just about anyone would see some drop off but I think he should have a good year. The bigger question might be, will the A's keep him all year? I can't imagine that he will sign with them at the end of 2009 (with the Mets, Yankees and Red Sox all potentially needing a LFer he could see some serious cash) so will the A's keep him and get the draft picks or trade him if someone comes with an attractive package. Of course, it also depends on how they do in the first half....

Just a "friendly" hello from a Marlins fan(and as of February employee... score!:D) who was at the last game at Shea. Mwhahahahaha! lol. Talk about stadium envy, while in NY I got to see not only two great historic stadiums, but two new state of the art one's right next door. Hopefully we get our fancy new stadium approved in the coming weeks.

In all seriousness I think the East will again be a 3-4 team slugfest at the top, with Washington lagging behind(although they might surprise and at least be a pain in the neck to everyone else).

The Marlins again have a low payroll but our pitching is as young and good as ever with Ricky Nolasco, Josh Johnson, Andrew Miller, Chris Volstad and Anibal Sanchez rounding out the rotation. Also, Cameron Maybin in center looks to be a stud and Jeremy Hermida is having a monster spring so far. If we can cut down on the errors the Fish will contend for the East and the Wild Card again.

And on the subject of mascots, my desk is across the hall from Billy the Marlin. Awesomeness at it's finest lol.

Im not going to lie - i always like the Marlins - they are a good scrappy - manufacture runs type of team - always respect that - well until game 162 at Shea lol

I too think washington will be much more improved - Willingham, Milledge - Dunn - I mean thats not a bad little combo at all! They could be dangerous!

Should be a fun year!

So you are the 1 Marlin fan... ;) ...

But honestly other than the last 2 final series of the year I never had any hatred for the Marlins. They have quite a few got alot of good young talent.

what is the latest on the stadium proposal? last id heard there was a chance of it being derailed AGAIN over some clauses (such as the city getting the marlins to pay money for the stadium if loria sells the team). i know there were some votes scheduled this week.
you guys desperately need a new park, ive been to dolphins stadium a number of times (and will be there next weekend for some WBC) and it just isnt built for baseball. the designs id seen for the little havana retractable roof stadium were impressive.
