Will the Rockets please revert to their 80's-early 90's uniforms and stay with them? I swear, the last two they've had are god-awful (the first one being my least favorite of all-time, any sport).

And while the Spurs and the Pacers may have nice throwbacks, the Hawks maybe should've left the old neon-greens in the attic.

Of course the game is more important, but is it strange that the team with the ugliest jerseys and the team with the ugliest throwbacks are playing the ugliest basketball?

The Rockets jerseys of the era you speak of were cool... better than some of the crap some graphic designers are trying to foist on the buying public.

On another note, I'm still waiting for the Kings to play a few games in either the 1970's K.C.-Omaha Kings red, white and blue jerseys or the classic powder blue, red and white name-under-the-number jobs from the early Sacramento years of the late '80s. The 1960's Cincy Royals throwback jerseys they've worn sometimes are way too plain-Jane.

I want to see the BULLETS (70's era) back, permanently. Not on just some special occasions in which the Wizards does sometimes.

Houston's jersey is awful.

Are the Knicks the only team not have a "throwback?" They've changed a few looks here and there, but its the same look.

After Boston, I believe Chicago has gone the longest without a major design change (not counting the alternate away black).
Their last change was in the mid-80's when they had the "Chicago" script. I think the shorts have looked the same ever since the franchise started.

My favorite throwbacks are:
Mark Eaton-era Utah Jazz (white)
Jerry Stackhouse-era Sixers (red)
"The City" Warriors (gold)

The only difference between the current Knicks unis and the great Knick teams of the early '70s is the black side panels.

The Knicks had a slightly different look in the early '80s (see below) and also in the 1950's but they're not all that cool looking.

The Rockets' current uniform is at least an improvement over the previous design, but only like Chris Berman would be an improvement over Stuart Scott on NFL Primetime. Which is akin to getting shot in the head being preferable to getting shot in the testicles. My point? You can't live with false alternatives.

I agree, the current Rockets' unis need to go and go fast.

The Bulls wore the script Chicago unis the other day against the Warriors, who wore their 'City' jerseys. The Bulls jerseys didn't look bad, but the difference is, relatively, subtle.

I'd like to see the Clippers wear Buffalo Braves jerseys.

The Nets should also go back to their ABA jerseys.

this is a good thread

Well, since we're talking about throwback jerseys, here's the greatest non-porn or soccer website of all time. Remember the ABA (http://www.remembertheaba.com/). It has jersey and warmup galleries, histories, stats and trivia. My personal favorite part is either When Big Hair Ruled the ABA (http://www.remembertheaba.com/OnlyintheABAMaterial/BigHairFinalists.html) or the ABA Fashion Guide (http://www.remembertheaba.com/OnlyintheABAMaterial/FreewheelingFashion1.html).

No, they used to wear those Richard Simmons/Bill Clinton shorts. :)
