The European Womens Soccer dot com main page isn't letting surfers in right now. Here is the article posted on the game (it has a picture of Megan Kakadelis with it):

The United States kept their perfect first-round record with a predictable defeat of luckless, eliminated Chinese Taipei at Victoria's Centennial Stadium. The thrashing sees the US officially finish atop Group C, which means they will stay in Victoria for their quarterfinal match.

The dominant US looked to take control of the match right from the outset. After a disallowed goal in the opening minute, Angela Woznuk hammered a shot off the post and Megan Kakadelas was there to put the rebound home after a quick touch from Lindsay Tarpley (0:1, 3').

And the next goal wasn't long in coming as captain Tarpley brought the ball down brilliantly at the edge of the box before firing a blast off the underside of Huang Feng Chiu's crossbar and into the back of the net (0:2, 10').

The US continued to dictate the tempo throughout the half, but the brave Taiwanese never laid down, fighting with spirit and some good football all the way. But, the Americans were simply too hot to handle, as Kerri Hanks was brought down in the penalty area. Rachel Buehler stepped up to handle the spot kick, and buried it past Huang (0:3, 33').

And just before the half Tarpley added another as she controlled the ball brilliantly, wrong-footing Huang, before calmly tapping home into a gaping goal from inches out (0:4, 43').

The US came out flying in the second half with a slew of substitutions. And a lucky break saw Kerri Hanks volley home easily from close-range after the ball took a cruel deflection (0:5, 47').

A towering header from Keeley Dowling on the end of a well-placed corner smacked off the post as the Chinese Taipei 'keeper was dead and buried (56').

The US grabbed another one as Stephanie Ebner went barreling down the right flank. As the 'keeper couldn't make up her mind to stay home or charge out, Ebner chipped the hesitating net minder, nestling the ball in the side netting to cap off the rout (0:6, 59').

The Asian side go home without a point and just one goal, while the tournament favourite US finish the group stage with a +14 goal differential and face either the third place team from Group A or B.
