Bocanegra did not seem out of place at all..... With time he will be "class"......
But Newcastle will march on :)
it is tough rooting against Fullham when Newcastle was playing them. But I hope Fulham has a fantastic season on the back of the 2 Yanks...

Hey, I wandered over to this board just because I heard the news. It'll be nice to cheer on someone besides a goalkeeper. Count me as a (newbie) supporter.
There's only one Brian McBride!

Unfortunately, we seem to be the only fans of this team that know about Bigsoccer.
I'll work on fixing that!

Ahh, I am not the only one. I felt like a trader, but felt better upon conclusion of the match. I will support my American lads with Fulham though.

Fulham now proudly sits on my list of teams to root for... Thank you Carlos and Brian and good luck in the EPL. Thank you Fulham for giving our boys a chance.

Okay guys. If you want to be Fulham fans, you can get a good idea of the team's rise by going to this website and reading Ormondroyd's cartoon match reports, starting with the earliest season and going game by game. You'll be talking like a real Cottager in a couple of days and ragging on those who don't own old copies of the great Fulham fanzine Where Were You When We Were Skint
Seriously, you'll have a good time reading your way through the '98-99 season when they were in the Second Division, Barry Hayles had a tough time getting going, Chris Coleman was a player, and the manager was none other than Kevin Keegan.

Sign me up!
(BTW - Anyone want to do a newbie primer of how we made it to the EPL from D2, who our sworn enemies are, interesting stories about Chris Coleman, etc?)

I've been a fan of Fulham since a visit to Craven Cottage in 1999. And, as an American, I am more than happy to welcome more American fans to Fulham. Next year the team will return to the Cottage and I encourage anybody who can to make a visit.
A bit of warning... There are a few, a minority, of British, "lifelong" Fulham fans who may give you some shtick. And, alot of them post on thier message board. Ignore them. The majority of Fulham fans create a great "family club" atmosphere. And, it is true... Fulham is a family.
Let's hope that McBride and Boca show Fulham that Americans can play "their" game, and make great fans!

I've always liked Fulham, even when they had Lewis. Saha was always a favorite of mine. I like pickin those bottom dwellers and watching them rise to the top, and now that they have one of my favorite Nats (Boca) and McB, I now have a reason to get a Fulham jersey. Anybody know where I can get a customized Fulham top?, I want to put #34 Bocanegra on it.

Great! Now that McBride and Bocanegra have signed with Fulham I have a real interest in the EPL. Could someone let me know when they play their next game? Thanks.

I will admit I am a newbie fan. I have always enjoyed watching EPL. EPL brings out a bueaty in the play of the game unlike anywhere else in the world.
I have always liked Desailly and Zola, but couldn't fell good about supporting a team that buys all thier talent.
I'm very excited to have a team I feel good about. McBride will have HUGE boots to fill with the absence of Saha (too big I fear). Bocanegra can handle himself. Sean Davis will be a treat to watch.
I can only hope the Americans can win over Fulham fans the way Fulham is winning over Amercian futbol fans.

I have been a Fulham fan for quite some time now and I went to two games at Loftus road in 2003...now I am currently waiting for them to go back to the cottage to see them play again.
Let me rest your fears...there are a good amount of Fulham fans in the U.S. Not nearly as many as Manure Arse. or chelski but growing non-the-less.
I am from NY but now live in NJ and I know there are a few others in the tri-state area who support fulham and every once and a while venture into NYC to watch the games live....
where are you all from?
