Just wondering who is planning on attending the Scott Gallagher trivia night at Windows off Washington Friday night?

I'll be there with one or possibly two friends. Anybody else?

I'm going. I think the Eads Brigade had a list of about 20 going, when they emailed me. Time to get out the scarves and sing "All we want is a team to call our own" except we will be preaching to the choir at this event.;)

I've been offline for a few days and just checked my email this morning. I tried emailing Mindy at SLSG about signing up and got the response that she is out of the office today. Does anyone know if it is still possible to participate tonight?

We filled all three tables they gave us and l got a forwarded email from Mindy saying they would add another if we needed it, so you'll probably be ok going as long as you say your with Eads Brigade.

As KD said, yes - you'll be fine. Especially if there are any Wimbledon questions. :p

So everyone knows, the event was moved to 8:00pm for the funeral of an individual very close to SLSG. As such, most everyone is out today.

It nice to connect a face to a screen name with Adiaga 2. It was also nice to see that Eads Brigade took 2nd and 3rd place out of the 60 or so teams present. Cooper also thanked us for our support and told me to keep up the fight. Here are some photos from the event:

How about a back end? I'm the one with his back to the camera taking up half the picture....and that's my best side.:o

We may not have a team, but we have a very intelligent (or trivially smart) supporters group. 2nd and 3rd place for the Eads Brigade (and we suspect the first place team was a group of professionals but we'll give them a pass because they donated their winnings back).

Impressive score!! Laclede's Army got 6th. Missed out on 5th by like 3pts. Not bad. :) I had a great time. Maybe he should have more fundraisers more often and we'll be able to buy an MLS team after all. Oh, and I scowled at the screen with the Sounders question and Drew Carry. No one at my table believed me at first.... didn't seem possible to them. Sigh. Let's do this again next year!!

It was nice getting a chance to permanently put a face with you too Pops!

And thanks for pretty much saving our asses in the music trivia department. I'm just sorry my baseball ringer couldn't come through on our ONE baseball question. Of course I wasn't doing us any favors by second guessing myself into a wrong answer with the Mario Lemieux question either...

I can't take all the credit. I still don't know who Slade is. I think our best answers were:

Super Dave's brother, Mr. Crabs daughter, Barnaby Jones, Thomas the Tank Engine, and the crossword round.

"Cum On Feel Tha Noize"? "Merry Xmas Everybody"? "Mama Weer All Crazee Now"? The greatest, stoopidest, most stomp-tastic glam rockers to stumble out of early-70s England on ridiculously high platform shoes? You're missing out! Major football hooligan band, too: check out "Super Yob" here!

Trivia night looked like a fun time. I need to keep more of an eye on the EB board - I might have actually been able to go to this one.

I was part of the winning team. Professionals we are not. We started the night with only 9 team members. Halfway through the first round one of the guys got up and mingled for the rest of the night. Another guy was so drunk he spent the night trying to figure out questions we'd already answered. Two guys were assigned to beer runs so we'd never be without a drink so they never got a chance to sit down. In the end I think we started playing a game at our own table- first person to shout out an answer it went on the sheet, even if everybody else disagreed. We ended up only missing 3 the whole night. I thought it was a pretty easy trivia night if 6 1/2 drunk guys could win.

I said in jest. However, I knew it was over when someone knew who "Old Kinderhooks" was. I'm somewhat knowledgeable about presidents and had no clue. We lost 3 points in the first round and then two more because we weren't as quick as you on the crossword. I think the final margin was like 6.

Were you the Saturday Soccer Report guys? If you are, that's a great show.

In all seriousness, it was great of you guys to donate the money back.:)

Why the heck was he called that? The sideburns?

Seriously, if you knew that, you should have been there....on our team!

This just proves how useless at music trivia I am. I had no idea that all these years Quite Riot was basically a Slade tribute-band.
