"Gunners bid for dutch ace rejected"

Just thought id pass on the latest transfer gossip...

"Arsenal have been told to raise their transfer bid to bring in feyenoord winger Robin van Persie to highbury.

The North London club had an undisclosed bid for the 20 year old, rated by his club at £4m, turned down.

Feyenoord spoksman Fred Blankmeijer said "We have rejected a first bid and we are waiting for Arsenal to come back to us. We are awaiting confirmation of a second bid"





Does anyone know about this player?Thoughts/Opinions anyone??

Admittedly I do not know anything about him. I went on to the Feyenoord website after reading the same article you posted and it looks like he's a decent young prospect. He's scored 5 goal so far this year and scored 8 (I think) in limited time last year. From the article it looks like the national team is keeping an eye on him and he definitely seems to be keen for a move to Arsenal. Probably a good pick up if the transfer fee doesn't get too high.
I'm one of the people who wants Aliadiere to see more minutes (once he gets healthy) but it does look like this kid is already starting to prove himself in a good league and could possibly be some immediate help up top.
Anyone who's seen him play....jump in please.

I never heard of the kid but he sounds like a great prospect. Wenger obviously has a vision for this player if he can sign him.
