Two Questions:

1. Still considered a top prospect in the sport today, Giovani hasn't had any luck fitting in to Harry Redknapp's system so far. He isn't injured anymore, and considering the brilliance he showed in the pre-season what is the true reason for his lack of play this year? Especially on a team that has had trouble in the attack as of late.

2. Does it have to do with his play or simply Redknapp's preferences and how is this viewed by most Spurs fans, many of whom were very excited to bring Gio in over the summer?

Many of us want to see him given a chance, especially with the other strikers struggling as you say. It's his physicality that is against him. Harry has spoken about how small the whole squad is. Add to that his inexperience in the EPL and it is hard to get a look in. Now that he's fit again I expect him to be pushing for a place.

I would also like to see him get more time, and still have hope that he can have success at spurs, but i cant comment on why, if fit, he is not getting a look.

He needs to be playing on that left side. The only way to get experience is to play but I think his overall athletic ability will be more then enough to get us good results. Left mid or striker for him.

To say that he showed "brilliance" in preseason is way off.

Seems pretty clear he is not rated by Bent Harry and it's just a case of whether someone will buy him for a decent fee.

At the start of the season he had trouble getting ahead of either Lennon or Modric (as the small creative force in midfield). Then he got injured when he could have had a shot of playing up front. Now that we have Defoe, he's facing an uphill battle to get into the side, especially one that does not need another little man.

Personally, I still rate him and would live to see him get a shot. Today's game would have been perfect. But maybe Harry knows something I don't (e.g. fitness, attitude, etc.)

Can you guys loan him? :p

Your not using him and he isn't going to get better while sitting on the bench.

I'm sure another team would want him for 6 months.

Nobody seems to want to loan him, or at least no teams that would offer something beneficial to his future.

Like i mentioned before, his career here is up. Reasons...

1) He is Ramos signing.
2) Uncle Harry never rates him.
3) Taarabt and Campbell preferred over him.
4) Cannot even get mins on the pitch despite being named as sub on both cup games. But he should get a chance for the FA cup after Uncle Harry saying he would field a weakened side. That's probably his last chance to impress.

His frame is probably working to his detriment. He should definitely be training for strength up top as he has been easily pushed off the ball before. But his speed, IMO, makes up for his lack of physical strength.

Maybe I was exaggerating about his preseason performance but I think he was definitely one of the best players to show up then. Bent had a great preseason and Modric was just ok.

He's not a crap player though. I'm not sure he deserves riding the pine unless there are forces that have nothing to do with football that keep him there. Whether it be his attitude (so far nothing has led us to believe that this is it) or Redknapp's dislike of him (which is more probable).

Personally I see nothing wrong with that video ... it's one of my favs with Harry. :D The kid obviously wanted to make the manager look like a fool by hitting him with a ball during the interview, and the kid did it. The manager is no fool, so he turned it around on the kid and I'm quite certain he gave him an earful after the interview. See, if the kids in the reserves can clown the manager, how are the first team supposed to take him seriously? If he had calmly had no reaction then it wouldn't have been perceived as being strong by the players, and that's what really matters.

In this era of player power, a strong manager is required. Do you honestly think that if someone did that to Sir Alex Ferguson, Mourinho, or one of the top top managers that they would have just shrugged it off? These guys micromanage everything about their players ... and they're not going to stand for such public insubordination, nor should they.

As for Johnny Two Saints, there is a very pervasive belief among Premiership managers that some players are simply too small and fragile to survive and succeed here. My guess is that this is the perception of JTS. I'm not sure whether it's true or not, but I'd be inclined to think it is. So, if Harry invests time into playing JTS, and he starts to develop, then gets injured, and gets injured often because he is in fact too small and fragile ... where would that leave us? Surely he would be problematic and probably be worth less money as he looks like he's always/permanently inured.

So my guess is that he isn't going to get any game time. One advantage Taarabt has over JTS is that Taarabt is a big healthy kid who can take the physical nature of the Premiership, so that's my guess as to why Harry prefers to take a chance on the pass-challenged Taarabt over the sublime passing JTS.

He was ok. I'm expecting him to ask for the ball more, run at the defence and getting into space cause this is probably the last chance he could impress Uncle Harry.

Loan Gio out to either a French club, a Championship club, a team in Spain's Adelante, or maybe a South American/Mexican team and then he should develop and then be ready for a more regular role at Tottenham.

There is talk of a swap with Lyon's Brazilian striker, Fred.
