Now that the London 2012 bid was launched, there are rumors swirling around that the Olympics could be converted into a new stadium for West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur or both. West Ham director Trevor Brooking supposedly said that
the club would be interested in moving into a new Olympic Stadium.

I don't know how it would be in the club's interest in any case, unless the new stadium would be basically given to them.

Sounds like a Terry Brown plan to me.

I'm dismayed that there could be West Ham fans who wouldn't welcome moving to the Olympic Stadium. This would be your first and last opportunity to join the elite. Even if the stadium was cut down after the games, it would still be bigger than Upton Park, and you could extend it again at some point. If you can average 35,000 in a relegation season, you can average 60,000+ when you are back in the Premiership and doing well. The Olympic Stadium will be at the centre of a web of transport links spreading out across your catchment area: it will be more convenient for your fanbase than Upton Park is.

I want London to become the centre of European football, and getting you into the Olympic Stadium is part of the Masterplan, alongside Ashburton Grove, Wembley, the Valley expansion and expanding the Shed and MH stands at the Bridge.

This is because you trust your chairman. We don't and he doesn't give any reasons to up till now.

It is a rare day when you can quote Gomer Pyle, USMC on BigSoccer but here it is a propos ... Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
