Im hoping that you all catch on and start posting injury news in here as well as discussing why the physio's are such good friends with Harry Kewell...and now Dancing Degen.

At the moment...these are the players who are injured:

Degen
Agger

We also have Arbs, Skrtel, Aurelio, Dossena and Torres all coming back from injuries.

For all of this season we have had at least one 1st team defender injured and for a large part of this season most of our full-backs have been missing. With all these injuries in the 1st half of the season, hopefully the 2nd half is filled with a bit more luck, especially to key players such as Torres, Stevie, Alonso and Masch.

I actually saw in an article on Fox Soccer that Agger is in the mix to be in the team for this weekend's FA Cup team.

Link (http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/9103256/Scratchy-home-form-worrying-Rafa)

Benitez expects to change his side from the one held, with Alvaro Arbeloa, Javier Mascherano and Daniel Agger all in contention.

Degen is made out of glass. He is the new Kewell.

Rather than asking who is injured, I think it would be more fitting to ask who is match fit.

Torres was tired. Carragher was tired. Arbeloa isn't fit, even if he is healthy now. Skrtel is rusty. Agger will probably be lacking a little match fitness and will probably be rusty.

There is a difference between being back from injury and being match fit.

Rafa on Agger and Alonso injuries (http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N162939090121-1349.htm)

Daniel Agger is facing a fitness battle ahead of this weekend's FA Cup clash with Everton - though Rafa Benitez expects Xabi Alonso to be ready despite an injury scare on Monday night.

A calf injury meant Agger was not in the squad to face the Toffees earlier this week and it is still unclear whether the Dane will be fit for Sunday.

Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv: "He was injured. He couldn't train normally.

"He is progressing now by working with the physios. He'll still need one or two days, so we'll see.

"It depends more on the physios than on me - we just have to wait."

Meanwhile, Alonso suffered discomfort after what was his first start since requiring seven stitches on his instep on Monday.

However, the 27-year-old is now back in training.

The boss added: "Xabi had a problem on Monday but he was training again today so I don't think he'll have any trouble for the weekend."

I am confused by what Agger has exactly done.

Is it a muscle strain? Or just a heavy knock that he has been carrying?

They say he has a calf injury, so im guessing just a strain probably from a fairly heavy workload that he's had recently. He will probably be ok for the Wigan match but there is no need to risk him for the FA Cup.

They obviously dont think that Degen and Agger are Liverpool players.

I haven't actually seen Degen play apart from preseason. So I am debating with myself whether he actually exists or not.

What is he still out with? Is it the fractured ribs? Or is it something else? I can't remember his most current injury.

I like having this injury thread. I am an Athletic Training Major now. Injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation is very interesting to me.

Degen does exist...someone who doesnt is Lars Jacobsen, a Danish right-back who signed on a free transfer for Everton at the start of the season but has not even made a CC or FA Cup appearance. I dont think he has even made a practice match appearance.

You telling me that even in injury prone right backs Everton still lose! :D

Degen Faces Long Injury Lay-Off (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/7867792.stm)
Liverpool defender Philipp Degen has been ruled out of action for up to five weeks with a metatarsal injury.

The 25-year-old Switzerland international picked up the problem during a reserve team match against Manchester United last week.

Although a scan revealed the bone was unbroken, he is expected to require at least a month to recover.

It is the latest in a string of setbacks that have kept Degen sidelined for most of his time at Anfield.

The right-back was making a comeback appearance for the Reds' second string when he picked up the knock and limped off at half-time.

Since arriving on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer he has made just two appearances for the Merseysiders.

Manager Rafael Benitez's other options at right-back are Spain international Alvaro Arbeloa, youngster Stephen Darby or to redeploy centre-back Jamie Carragher to the position.

Shocking

Now we know why they partied into the early hours at Dortmund.

Is there any way we can just release Degen at the end of this season?

I mean honestly. His wages plus his medical bills are just killing us right now. ;)

Aug seemed to hold a lot of promise for our new signings.
Now Keane is gone and Degen and Dossena have hardly featured.
So I must say we look good to still be in the hunt for silverware on 3 fronts.

That's a testament of two things.

How good are team already was before the signings, and how big of an impact Riera has made.

True...he is the only change to our best XI.

Transfer deadline, inspired buy by Rafa.

Transfer deadline, inspired buy by Rafa.

And he managed to get rid of an aging, diminishing Steve Finnan in the process as well. Not that i didnt like Mr.Consistent, but his play in his final season was fairly poor.

Riera's impact to our team's play has not been as good as Torres' impact last season, but his adaption to the team has been amazing.

If only another ex-player couldve done so

On Degen...when he was at Dortmund he never missed this much football. In his last season with them, he had to battle through a groin injury for the 2nd half of the season (possibly longer) and it was too bad for him to play in the Euros. He finally got over the groin, broke his ribs, got over his rib injury, did something else and now has a broken foot. Poor lad...I was hoping to see him get a chance from now until January.

Lets see if he sticks around until next season.

Don't think so.
