SoccerAge (http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/g6583.html)Asta Makes Shock Palermo Move
Out-of-contract Torino midfielder Antonino Asta has made a surprising drop down to Serie B to join Palermo.
After talks with a number of clubs the 30-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Sicilian side.
He had been linked with moves to Inter, Southampton and Blackburn.
Palermo also signed Dumitru Mihalcea, Massimo Mutarelli and Vasile Nastase from Genoa on Tuesday.

Man this is great stuff, getting a player of that quality to drop down says a lot about Palermo's chances to move up to the top flight...

GO PALERMO
Does anyone know where to get a Palermo jersey?
I have one from several years ago & couldn't find a new one when I went to a game of their's in Jan or anywhere else in Palermo. I must not know where to look.

As for the jersey, very impressed if your going to wear those pink-and-black shirts around. Maybe look here for some help in finding the jerseys on sale..

Tough loss, Zauli out for the season after injuring shin in 1-1 draw with Serie B leaders Cagliari...Cagliari leads with 14 points, Palermo back in a pack at 10 points...

Palermo star Lamberto Zauli fractured his shin in an accidental clash with Nelson Abeijon and will be out for the rest of the season.

thought I'd revive one of the scant Palermo threads...
I continue to be amazed by the caliber of player they bring in. They bought Luca Toni to play up front...and midway through last season had added rising star Codrea from Genoa...
Now comes Corini from Chievo:

add all this to names like Gasbarroni (on loan from juve) Asta, Zauli, Maniero....if they're ever gonna make it back to A after coming so close this past yr...now is the time.
