Maybe because the majority is, so it isn't anything special. Bah, at least i think that's the reason.

That's because these countries promote cultural ism. In Canada Italians are more proud to be Italian, but in America they are more proud to be American first. Canada's has a stupid belief where generations of immigrants and their children, tend to put Canada second.

Argentina comes first and different mentality.

I couldn't agree more , as well as Andres but i think there are more Spanish ,in Arg rather than Italian or rather an equal 30% and the rest 30%German/french/Portuguese/Croat/Serb/Armenian/jewish/arab etc.etc.

......except for one group of people; Jew's they will proudly call themselves Argentine but the moment there is nationwide economic trouble 00-02 they will discard their nationalism, Aliyah for Israel on an (Israeli emigrant development citizenship package)... in other words i feel this group is most likely to bail on Argentina more so than any other group during the tough times.. no offense to anyone...

Another small thing i've noticed is the attention paid to surnames , it seemed to me that there was/is a caste system in place to a small but noticeable extent..

My point is this ,if you are born and educated in Argentina you are first Argentine ..

Well speaking for both worlds, I enjoy everything that's Italian to, except for the soccer. I just don't have much of a family association compared to Argentina, because of the two big wars. Stupid Europeans in the last 2 centuries always going to war. Created a lot of displacement and rifts for my genealogical tree.

I have strong ties to Italy because of family..etc...

Hey, without the good food I`d be lost.:D

But riddle me this, in Italy...when an Argentine with an Italian last name is popular...his place of birth is lost,,,,no?

What the hell? 5'6 and they look like orange douches, you'd think they realize they look like douches, but apparently people are f`d up in RL like they are in world rivalries. Can't stand those immigrant type offspring Italians, they make me sick, with their spiked hair and 15 year old civics.

Ha, Racing, I check the url of that pic and did some snooping then came to this chicks youtube site. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=TheRealParis&view=videos It's like smooolarious.

Don't get me wrong i love the Italian culture. It's very similar to the Argentine, the food, the mannerisms the loud family gatherings. I'm just glad that in Argentina we didnt go for the guido way of expressing our heritage...we just went for the mullets...and you know what im ok with that. :p

BTW those guys have their own website, it's quite hillarious. If i find it i'll post it later.

I'd say it's because Latin American societies embrace European immigrants much more warmly than North American ones.

If you're a European in Latin America (yes, even in Argentina) you're gold, you're privileged, you got it made. In the US and Canada, you're "meh".
