Oh my, 1-0 ft to the Wolves.

Aside from the shame on Manrue, you really felt good for Wolverhampton.

thank goodness the kid woke up early so I could enjoy this fine result

Even after Wolves scored I thought there was no way United wouldn't get 2 or 3 at the end just to be cruel. Congrats to Wolves for hanging on the way they did although they certainly benefited from United not having their shooting boots on today.

Without a doubt, best showing from the Wolves this year. Top of the table is our's with a win tomorrow, thanks Wolves!

[Sound of knocking on wood] Yes, let's hope the Gunners can put several in the net and put our run of away draws behind us.

I occasionally get chidded for posting in the wrong forum, but I figured at least half of the people here are like me and don't check other forums much. They just pop in here to see what is up. I would not have mentioned it had they won. But part of being an Arsenal supporter is mocking ManUre at every reasonable opportunity, and frankly I don't really think it best to mock them in their forum (though I will from time to time)

This one's Arsenal-related enough that I think posting it in here is fine. I was going to do it, actually until I saw that Billy beat me to it, though mine was going to be more of a "Thank you Wolves for opening the door" post.

EDIT: I was just thinking that I might know the reason why ManUre blew this game. All the players were too busy thinking about Butt! Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week! Try the veal!

I agree. This upset has a direct effect on our regaining top of the table. Who wouldda thunk it? Wolves toping ManUre? Sweet!

I can't even begin to describe the shock and amazement that I felt when I saw this scoreline. You couldn't have shocked me anymore had you told me that China was going to the moon.

Oh, wait, they are.....

Now here's to Arsenal not laying an egg tomorrow against Villa.

The Wolves-Manure result means nothing if Arsenal doesn't win against Villa.

And for the Championship race as a whole, if Chelsea doesn't beat Birmingham, then its still just a two horse race.

To be all settled sunday......

The real fun of this is to hear from the supporters of the underdog.

To see the pbp on the Wolves board, and the descirption of the Wolves board casters in the closing minutes . . .

I can hear Russ Hodges screaming "the Wolves win the pennant, the Wolves win the pennant"

(insert Giants for Wolves for the 1951 American version)

funny how all the Man United supporters quickly jump into our threads to give us the business, but somehow they've managed to avoid this thread. Sing when you're winning...

I know it sucks to say this now after the fact, but I thought Wolves would get SOMETHING beforehand. I can offer no explanation other than a hunch which is why I said nothing...I dreaded the response after 1-6 to ManU. It was just a hunch after ManU had ONLY won 1-0 at Old Trafford and was lucky to do that(If Camara had HIS shooting boots on...)so I wasn't surprised that it got to half-time 0-0. It was like an FA Cup tie...the best way for the minnow to win is hold the bigger club as long as possible, and then to score yourselves as late as possible. My fear was when Wolves scored they had scored too soon, but I still figured Wolves would get their point but I couldn't see them holding ManU out 90 minutes, so it was doubly delightful to watch as they actually did. Good times...

Man Utd did what we have been guilty of a couple times this season. They were away on a dreary winter day at a bottom of the table side and were unmotivated and thought they could get a result without too much effort. Same thing happened to us at Leicester.

Not saying Wolves didn't play well. Fair play to them, they played very well. Man Utd just had a very bad day at the office. Wolves played hard, were a bit lucky and capitalised on their chances, caught a good team having a bad day and that's how any bottom of the table side beats a top of the table side.

Its still a 3 horse race. This game could be used to motivate them. Like the 3-1 home loss to Man City did last year and our 3-1 loss to Newcastle did for us the year before.

There is still a lot of football left. So far we have not capitalised on them dropping points. Our draws came on the same weekends they dropped points hence they a point above us before the game.

I hope we take advantage of this gift.
