Seriously the guy plays exactly like him, sometimes he has heavy touches sometimes hes real skillful.

Hes got an eye for a finish, very powerful iswell. Only thing different from both their games is Jay is a lil quicker.

Same height, running stride. Maybe he modelled his game on him?

Very strange indeed...

I knew i was going to get a response of 'It's You' at least once within the first 5 replies.

How predictable internet forums have become.

Baptista is like 2 inches taller than Simpson...

Baptista was also a CM, right?

You say 2 inches, like that is a big difference and unless you took a tape measure and measured them yourself, they can always be in-accurate.
(No Homo to that whole comment)^^

Baptista is not a CM, he is a forward or an attacking mid who plays behind the striker or as a striker, anybody playing him out wide is foolish.

prince did call him a Centre Mid, tbf.
and he did play there for sevilla, before they moved him to striker.
but we all know this, just saying.

I'm not seeing it. Jay is just Jay to me. Also Baptista is huge compared to Simpson.

Lol @ Baptista's hairline, he will never be able to experience the feeling of having a great shape up. Altho I shouldn't talk with my hair, but I can have that feeling if I want to.:p

Da beast should just get fades from now on.

I'm still trying to figure out what this has to do with Gilberto.

the only comparison i can really see is that they are both powerfully built.

i know the tale of the tapes (at least according to wiki -- yes, i know that is not exactly THE premier source of information) say that their heights are within 2 1/2 inches of each other (6'1 1/2 vs 5'11) but baptista looks a lot bigger in stature than simpson. it could just be an impression or the fact that simpson seems to slouch a bit.

their games seem to be different as well. simpson seems quite happy to lead the line and make his runs -- something i think we need desperately until eduardo proves he is back as adebayor is the only one on the squad who is comfortable doing that currently. baptista seemed uncomfortable when we asked him to lead the line which fits many opinions that say that he is best as either a support striker or a late arriving attacking central midfielder.

i will admit to my bias -- i really like simpson and hope he stays with us -- but i am confused at how he came out of our academy. he is not the slightly built player with sublime skill that seems to be our standard. i hope he sticks around, i think we need some players like him to mix in with the fabregas and walcott.

Well, since this is the Jay Simpson thread... (no, he doesn't remind me of Baptista), anyone have a link to his goal?
