Hey outlaws. We all know how MASSIVE 2/11 will be. Me and my girlfriend are going to be spending 24 hours round trip in a car driving though the middle of the night just to be there and cheer on our mighty Yanks. I am wanting to create a massive match day atmosphere. We all know that vocally no one can match us outlaws in terms of singing and crowd volume. I want to create that same level of intensity VISUALLY. Im talking about flags, banners, confetti, smoke bombs, two stick flags, flares, streamers etc etc. This thread will be the place to post all your ideas and maybe put something together. Other then an actual world cup game, this match is the most important game the US plays every 4 years. We need to think big on this one Outlaws. Post any and all ideas. There is no such thing as a bad idea.
Also, I live in Omaha. If any of the top brass at the AO would like to get together and brain storm/work on banners and flags, I would love to hear from you. Im am already "saving" the punches from 3 whole punchers at work so that by the 11th I will have a bag full of free confetti. Am going to be purchasing some flares and streamers, as well as making a 2 stick flag, an American flag on a pole and a Nebraska state flag with OMAHA written on it to hang up in the stadium. Any other Omaha/Lincoln/Council Bluffs outlaws wanna combine forces to make this thing massive??

I'm down for whatever. My friend and I will be driving up from Knoxville on Tuesday. We're doing the Claddagh thing that evening and Ruby Tuesday's before the game.
Suffice to say, I'm going to try and get as much "stuff" as possible the week of the game as that will be when I get me excess financial aide (don't tell my wife).
I'd love to get some flares but I won't have time to order them on-line. I'm currently searching for some type of loud drum.
By the way, my e-mail address is: knoxtnhorn@yahoo.com if anyone needs anything or has questions. I just joined American Outlaws this week but have been a member of Sam's Army and been to several games before.

Please make a "Shut up Sven!" banner, preferably with a picture of "It" in a serape and sombrero!

That would be incredible if everyone (or almost everyone) brought smoke bombs and we all lit them right at kick off.

Have you gotten your tickets yet? Did anyone who is a member of the US Soccer Fan get an e-mail with the password for the January 26 presale, which will require a password to purchase tickets. And why were the Columbus Crew season ticket holders allowed to purchase tickets on the 22nd of January. So what that the match is held in the Crew stadium. The team is "The US National Team" not the Columbus Crew. Why should they be allowed to buy tickets 5 days before any other US Soccer fan. And then there is the presale on the 26th of January. Who is that sale for?? Friends and family of US Soccer ticket administrators maybe. Maybe they are selling the password for this presale and pocketing the cash. The first time a US Soccer fan gets a chance at a ticket is on the 27th of January, with their VISA card. And sale to the general public starts on the 28th. Good luck to those poor fans. And if you don't believe me, check it out on this link: www.ticketmaster.com/event/05004230BD9990F8?artistid=821723&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=11. Click on "Onsale Dates & Times" to expand the sale window. The US Soccer administration is giving preference to their friends and selectively selling the tickets, rather than giving all US Soccer fans equal chance at getting a ticket. The whole system is unfair to US Soccer fans.

Something about Mexican players being naturalized and/or mercs would REALLY piss off the Mexicans watching on TV.
Something like:
Edgar - Estados Unidos
Nery - Uruguay
Vuoso, Ayala y Franco - Argentina
Augusto y Zinha - Brazil
Sven - Sweden
MEXICO, CELEBRATE DIVERSITY or
MEXICO, NATURALIZADOS WELCOME or
MEXICO, THE MONEY'S GOOD or
LANDON SPEAKS MORE SPANISH or
LANDON IS MORE MEXICAN
If you can think of anything more smartassy to put at the bottom it'd work wonders.

Have you gotten your tickets yet?
Yes.
Just my opinion, but I think you are attacking an entity that is trying to make best efforts to ensure our team has a home advantage.
Not to detract from your venting but I actually think that the USSF might actually be doing this right for a change. The smartest way to make sure that the stands are filled with US supporters is to actually make sure that the clubs/groups that actually have a track record of supporting the National Team distribute them.
It is great to see that the American Outlaws, Sam's Army, Screaming Eagles, etc. have finally been entrusted with this effort at such an important juncture.
Likewise, getting tickets out to season ticket holders of an MLS franchise is probably the next best thing in terms of helping control the demographics of a particular game.
Having manned the barricades so to speak at matches like USA - Honduras, USA - Guatemala, etc., I can assure you that other efforts have failed spectacularly.
On the bright side, if you would like to stand with fellow US Supporters - there is still a chance that there are a few tickets in our batch available (http://screaming-eagles.com/2009/01/us-mexico-tickets-now-on-sale/).
Just drop Jimi an email at roadtrips@screaming-eagles.com and avoid the frustration.

flags are, from what i've seen. but smoke and flares are not. i don't think they're permitted anywhere, for that matter. now a more important question is not if they're permitted, but how easy it will be to get those last 2 things into the stadium. i say go for it and let the cards fall as they may. we need that kind of tihs for this game. just be creative and hide 'em well.

Smokes aren't allowed, I've been kicked out before for doing so I know first hand. Neither are Flares..... that said, I've seen smokes or flares at most the games last year.... I wouldn't suggest throwing them because the CSC security is pretty good at pinpointing who did it and I wouldn't want to get kicked out of a game of this proportion for lighting a smokebomb at kickoff.
Regardless, It would be awesome to have that place covered in red, white, and blue smoke at kickoff! Maybe we can get an OK from US Soccer to do it?

I think I read in the crew forums that CSC had plainclothes narcs in the crowd.
Anyway, what is the 1st rule about flares at soccer games? Hint, it's like fight club.

Hell yeah,
lets bring as much shit as we can.
Tayjay I would love to get together in Omaha and discuss some things, give me an email at jbrunken@theamericanoutlaws.com and we can set up a time and place.
We don't have tons of room to bring stuff personally as AO heads, we rely on others to bring all the shit they can carry. Voices and craziness are the most important thing to bring, what ever you guys want bring is good with me. I am not a big fan of streamers though, but whatever fans want.
I haven't been able to get a hold of the stadium to see what is ok to bring, but i assume Flags and drums good, flares and smoke bring at your own risk. I would say no flares, because tons of alcohol, fire and tons of people isn't the best combo, I think smoke has the same effect, but safer, but be creative my people. I am all for crazy shit, but I don't want to kill anyone.
Not sure yet on how and when to get it into the stadium, i hope to get a hold of the stadium this week, but they seem not to want to talk.
We will be creating some banners for some of our chapters too, but lets just be louder the my farts after a long night of drinking. (they are loud)
More info to come.

Although I will not be bringing any flags, smoke or flares into the game, I know that a group of 5 or 10 guys can put together enough flags for the whole section in a matter of just a half of hour.
What I will provide is The Hand of Justice- the prefered beer bong of the Kansas City Wizards. You think they will let me bring that into the game?

I posted an idea for a banner that had an "ethnic slur" in it. Picked up a yellow (5 naughty, naughty points). I don't throw ethnic slurs around, but in this instance, when the Mexican fans are yelling "Obama, Obama, Obama" in the stands, with an obvious reference to 9/11, I don't think any ethnic slur aimed at those people is out of line. What are your opinions?

My 2 cents:
I think any ethnic slur is wrong....it is just lowering yourself to the level of those who were chanting "Obama" and other anti-US chants.

If the way tickets are being sold insures that every US Soccer fan has a chance to get tickets before any Mexican fan, then I most surely support their efforts. The problem I had was that I had changed my e-mail address and I had sent in an update to my profile more than SIX times, with no reply. I then sent three additional e-mails; no reply. I then called the US Soccer Federation several times (drove the poor lady there nuts), asking if my profile had been updated, as I had not gotten any acknowlegement that it had. To my relief, I received an e-mail on Monday morning (26th) with the code for the 26th presale. Logged in at 12:00PM ET sharp and got my tickets (lots of jumping up and down and loud screaming). My message on Big Soccer was posted before I received the e-mail on the morning of the 26th.
