ARSENE WENGER has made a £5million move for Lazio’s Mobido Diakite but has been told to come back with a bigger bid.

The Arsenal manager has been hunting for a powerful centre-half and, at 6ft 4ins, the lightning-quick Diakite fits the Emirates mould.

As much as I love reading about transfer rumors, I don't trust anything I read whether it be from Wenger or The Sun. All the same, a man can dream, can't he?

Wenger's quotes are about as accurate as anything you read on tribalfootball. Then again he has to make comments like that - we can't be telegraphing our moves, and giving our players a public vote of no confidence (by indicating that we are looking for someone new) and then still expect them to go and perform for the next 5 months.
