dunno if this deserves it's own thread, but it didn't seem quite right putting it in the transfer one. anyway, in this interview on sky ...

... just after the six minute mark, there's a bit of talk about jenas having fallen out with harry. not sure what to make of it, really, assuming it's even true. but all through both jol's and ramos's times, we'd keep bringing in all these central mids, and jenas would keep getting all his minutes. frankly, i don't think he's going to be a part of the right midfield, (naively) assuming we ever do get it right. but without having gotten it right, i rather value him ... y'know, box-to-box and all that. i mean, i want to see a midfield that doesn't need him, but as of right now, i think we might be alot worse off without him, if that makes any sense.

maybe this could focus upon him some of the motivation that he so clearly lacks on occasion. a bit of redknapp man management, if you will. but we all remember him at newcastle, and i'd guess he'd be more likely to crumble and want away. dunno. i've kind of mixed emotions about this - if there's even anything to it.

I personally would hate to see Jenas leave cause I have always thought and always will believe that the talent is there for all to see it's just that he has horrible concentration and it really hurts the team. I think Harry was right to go public with this so he can reflect and see that he is hurting the team by not "manning up" as some would say.

I think Harry will break him down and build him back up to be the new and improved Jermaine that will garner the sort of respect that he was so highly touted to have when he was younger.

C'mon Jermaine don't let me down buddy.

I remember him as a talented kid in Newcastle. But he never seem to improve his game after that, has he? For every 1 good game he gives us, he can disappear for 10 games. Well, I would be happy to see him go. I believe O'Hara would be able to do a better job than him.

As a person I rather like Jenas, he seems to be a good sort for the locker room. As a player he is an enigma. He always puts forth the effort and is willing to get stuck in and do the running needed, so I can't really ever fault his effort. But, he has so much talent and simply doesn't seem to have any polish to make use of it. He'll have the rare exceptional game, usually against top notch competition, but then fall off the radar. He's definitely a better defensive player than offensive player, but he does score well ... it's just that his passing and creativity seem to be non-existant sometimes.

The biggest observation about Jenas that I've noticed is that he's a horrible sub. When he's getting a nice long run of games, his defending seems to tighten up considerably, and he starts to produce the odd gem of a game. But when he's returning from injury, or it's early in the season, or he's had a long layoff for whatever reason, he definitely takes a long time (many games) to get back into the swing of things. The problem is that he never becomes consistently good. He disappears just when he's starting to impress us. And, while he has the other attributes to be a good substitute and utility player, his lack of production when not getting playing time simply isn't good enough.

There comes a time when you need to cut bait. As I said before Jenas arrived, he's fast, but the guy just never puts it all together. I wouldn't mind offloading him, but I must admit wherever he goes I'll be rooting for him to succeed, becaues I rather like the kid's attitude and committment. Knowing how we have such a rich tradition of players blossoming after leaving THFC, I think it's a pretty good bet that he'll find his game after he leaves us, and I'll be happy for him.

Jenas is what Tottenham is:

He will show up every so often and when he's good, he's great!

But more often than not, he doesn't show up, and he's quite bad.

repped.

that really is JJ and this current squad in a nutshell. really explains why I cannot stand either of them right now.

I will never ever shun Jenas cause I think he is a good player but his mind lapses really hurt him from taking his game to the next level.

You think Jenas would finally mature if he goes to Inter under Mourinho's guidance?

I could be a superstar under Mourinho with his motivating skills. Jenas would probably thrive from being in that professional atmosphere.
