Alright, time to get back on the 3 point track.
I think it is time to unleash the Torres and Keane combination up front.
I would like to see this lineup...
-------------------------Reina-----------------------
Carragher-----Agger-----------Skrtel------Aurelio
----------------------Mascherano-------------------
Kuyt-------------------Gerrard----------------Riera
----------------Keane-----------Torres--------------
3-0 to the good!

I think this is just what the doctor ordered. A rivalry game that everyone will be up for and will get our title hopes back on track. Everton is high on good form lately and its up to us to bring their bitter ass back down to Earth.
I really like having Insua out there and on the left and Carra out on the right, I'm not high on Fabio just yet. Lets reward Insua's good work with more playing time.

Won't Alonso be back by January 19?

Monday Night Football! As always this should be a good one and a chance to get back into stride.
Yup, I'm in.

Lol, ideally thats what I'd like to see. Who knows what Rafa has in mind though.

Insua out for a while with International duty. Supposedly, Maradona intervened on his behalf to Rafa. If you ask me, it couldn't come at a worse time.

Yep, that has to be the best line-up all season. I just hope Beny or Lucas isn't slotted in there.

Yup, I'm in.
And its Martin Luther King Day here in the states. No work for me.
I would also like to see Gerrard in midfield with Keane and Torres up front. It gives the defense something to worry about.

Insua is on NT duty.
Aurelio wasn't bad against Stoke. I definitely prefer him over Dossena in this one.

I know. :p
That's what I want to see, but as usual, I doubt Rafa surfs the BigSoccer message boards.
Should I make a guess at who Rafa is going to put out?
--------------------Reina------------------
Carragher---Agger-----Hyypia---Aurelio
----------Mascherano---Lucas------------
Kuyt---------------Gerrard-----------Riera
---------------------Keane------------------
If Alonso is fit, I really hope he is out there. I didn't think Lucas contributed much in the Stoke City match. I really, really want Torres and Keane to play together, but I doubt that will happen.
I am sure whatever lineup Rafa comes out with, there will be at least one surprise in there. There always is...

Says she often finds print outs of team formations that have obviously come from the BS forum 187. Usually they're in little wadded balls.
Her other job is wiping the spittle from the computer screen where he laughs himself silly after losing a match. His way of unwinding.

Assuming Arbeloa, Alonso, and Torres are fit enough to start.
I would be fine with that lineup.

Carra is not at his best at right back, as shown by a few poor balls into the box vs Stoke as well as some poor touches and getting skinned by Etherington on many occasions. However if Arbs isnt fit, and Degen is probably going to get a game in the FA cup then Carra will have to start at RB. We need Carra's prescence and organisational abilities in the middle of the pitch, also because when he is at RB, he tends to drift too far inside and think he's playing as a right-sided CB.
Hopefully Arbs and Alonso are both fit. Given that Torres has had 2 sub appearances, he is probably going to start this match while probably going back to the bench for the FA Cup tie 6 days later.
Agger has had a rest now after playing most of the last 5-10 matches while Sami also will probably get a rest during the FA Cup tie.
If Arbs is fit...
Reina
Arbs Carra Agger Aurelio
Alonso Masch
Kuyt Gerrard Riera
Torres
Subs: Cavalieri, Hyypia, Lucas, El Zhar, Yossi, Babel, Keane

Yes; a well-drilled team worries less when it plays a lone striker. It's not amazing to note our defenders were the more over-worked against Stoke.

If Degen/Arbeloa aren't fit for RB... What about El Zhar? He could well do a job and he generally gives it all for the team. He's got something to prove and he looks pacey with oxygen to burn.
Sometimes I feel we are too preoccupied with not losing than we are on rolling the dice and winning.

LOL...should we try to concede more goals?
This would be the first step to doing that. I dont even trust El Zhar to play a full 90 minutes yet in the league. Darby is 4th choice behind Carra.

For this match, given that our more composed players on the ball will be key...Agger, Xabi and Masch will be crucial, while Kuyt and Riera will need to make the most of Everton's average full-backs (Baines and Hibbert) if Lescott starts centrally and P.Neville starts in midfield.
I cant wait to see Riera run rings around Hibbert :D

Who said anyone cares who you trust? I've been reading the boards for a while wondering who gave you the inclination that what you say matters and what you think is right?
We play a 4-5-1 and El Zhar is not a mug in defense. We'll have too much defensive cover for a team that does not even have a genuine forward playing in their line-up.
We may even concede a goal...but we'll definitely score more and at the least create more chances. Remember, you need to score to win.
