It it just me but it seems like in the Spanish radio segment more than in the Engish speaking segment. Sure the english disc jockey peddles crap too like Xtendz but not nearly in the realm of our Latino Radio Show host trying to bilk the hell out of their audience with really schitty shady products and services like real estate properties and English language courses. If it's not magic get rid of all your diseases pill it's some scheme to get you to buy some barren desert land in the Mojave Desert. The biggest offender is this "El Cucuy de la Manana" that is supposedly syndicated now to 14 markets. This guy bilks and bilks without rest. I can understand if his fans want to hear him verse over slow music and maybe trying to get his audience to go shop at that 'Latino' store that heavily overprices their crap well over the norm, but supposedly know he's being sued by one of his family members because he recomended one of his sponsors for medical attention but the inflicted family member died.
Then there's this Humberto Luna who's been bilking well over 20 years. ALthough it was funny when first he was promoting one 'learn english course' then he switched over to the big daddy course 'Ingles Sin Barreras' and made funny of his previous sponsor because all he learned with the previous one was to learn to dance like Cantiflas (referring to the bundling of Cantiflas tapes and Intructional Dance tapes with the english course)

Before I start is anyone a Iglesia Universal member:)?

i agree...too much useless s.hit is being sold.

but there wouldnt be anything being sold if people would simply stop buying, people will believe everything and anything they see.

i remember a couple of years ago there was this juice, 'Noni' and 'Noni Plus'(funny name) LOL some of the dumbest commercials ever...yet people would still buy it.

if we want to progress as a community we should stop fukcing eachother over. simple as that.

More information on Noni Juice.

The FDA & various state attorney generals also have a beef with them.

Tell me about it. The whole course is more around $2000 even though you can buy a computer and a much better CD-ROM course for around $300. The only minor redeeming quality about the whole Ingles sin Barreras is those stupid infomercials remember," I want un carnation con papetion" with Carlitos Espejel.

Another ripoff English course is the one with the Steven Hawkings translator caculator

Also remember the big Una de gato craze of the mid 90's with shameless Andres Garcia revering his brand because it helped him cure his cancer filled balzac. Then a few months after he's done promoting the product he's huffing and puffing a big Cuban with hard liquor. What a scumbag.

And also about the Noni juice I was f'ing going insane when they actually would put real sick people in danger by telling them to pretty much get rid of their medications becuase this was their real remedy.

After reading the Noni article it seems that it could be outside operations too.

And also this complete utter B.S. with these people with Ph.D. in P.E. or Medival History passing themselves off as M.D. like the Super Nopal Jaun Gabriel look alike.

Also part of the blame should be put on the networks or stations who can wash their hands and look the other way just because they put a disclaimer at the beginning and end of the informercial.

If I ever see that ****** in the street I'll kick his ass. Not Juan Gabriel, his lookalike. I've got no problem with Juanito.

Wow, this is interesting. I can't understand Spanish as quickly as they speak it on all those ads, so it's good to hear your interpretations of them.

Yeah how can one forget 'Ingles in Espanol'
"an now I heve a greyt yob"

I like Erik Estrada, but I think he'll go into the C sucker department in my book if that real estate commercial he peddles turns out to be another land scam like is expected.

Alright now that I know no one will get offend here goes. That Inglesia Universal I swear it reminds of the Grand THeft AUto church minister, "no Donationnnnnnn no Salvationnnnnnn!!!". I remember my mom dragged to one of their sermons in the early 90's when they used to have them at the old Million Dollar theatre in Downtown LA. First they would have an upfront $20 fee for counseling. Then during the sermon they would sell the audio tapes for 60 dollars with the tag "God would be very pleased with a minimum donation of $60 for the tapes!".

Then the schit really hit the fan!
Next up a live exorcism!! This 40 year old woman comes up stage telling how the she's been possesed for 3 years now and she's tried everything. Naturally the minister calls out the red guy for a little playtime. THe woman goes into a trance and before you can say Linda Blair she's drooling out the mouth, grabbing her crotch and doing her best Leona Helmsley impression. The minister after 3 minutes does his little show and expells the red guy from the woman's body.

I found this

Also I heard that the LA operatives all live in a Bel-Air mansion as reported by CBS-LA or NBC-LA

So has anyone bought Los Talismanes de la Buena Suerte ?

I find it annoying that they keep saying that the talismans are not religious yet they have crosses and images of La Virgen de Guadalupe in the background as a supposed priest tells people to order the things.

The funniest scam I've seen is El Indio Tairobi. This guy even had a TV show on early mornings, complete with fake callers. He was done up in a full indian chief get-up and would do free consultations by phone. I'm assuming this was just for the initial call and did not include all the magic items you could order from his shop.

Yeah, all those "products" are pretty bad, but what about the programming in Hispanic TV stations?

Come on man, outside of futbol and sports, I cannot think of a single TV show worth watching 5 minutes straight.

Between the novelas, the Laura en America clones and the shitty mexican comedies, one just wonders if the Hispanic population in the US actually watches this crap.

Man, Don Francisco is supposed to be an institution and I find him unbearable.

Que creen ustedes?

Totally agree. Even worse, they themselves know they have crappy programming. Why do you think they moved some MFL games to Telefutura ? They know it's the only reason somebody would demand from their cable companies to carry the station.

Here's a tip to any would-be California politician - You can get close to 100% of the Hispanic vote in the state if you allow SKY TV Subscriptions to be legal and available.

Univision and Telemundo would go broke and TV Azteca would discontinue Azteca America in favor of their regular feeds.

20 years ago, my Spanish professor said the exact same thing.

Bring back Jacobo Zabludovsky!

It's not just the Latino channels. Fox Sports World has commercials for 39 cent copper bracelets for $100. And then there's the diet pills for $350 per month. Just because someone speaks English, doesn't make them any less likely to buy crap. The average cable TV viewer must be in debt up to his ass, 200 pound overweight, trying to quit smoking, and with a small penis.

I listen to ESPN Radio 1050 AM in NYC and it aseems that there's a commercial for an all new pill for "natural male enhancement" every 15 seconds!! As if a pill could make your schlong bigger........ By the way what does Sports radio have to do with sex anyway?? If this was Howard Stern I'd understand but sports in the morning? It is really annoying, funny, and uncalled for....

Along those lines, the NFL is totally out of control this season--I cant watch an NFL game without feeling like an impotent old man (and im 29 mind you)!!! It seems every 5 seconds they put that commercial "Sometimes you can have difficulty staying in the game..."

They have a similiar commercial in Radio Unica's daily footy talk show.. The commercial also says that they will give you a measuring tape along with the pills so you can check for progress, lol.. .
