What a shame, you couldn't go out cause you're going to Amsterdam? I feel for you :D

I like the website. Love the colors.

You should feel for me, I gotta go with my gf who is like 99% Dutch, it's her idea. Plus we also go to Belgium and a Belgium cholate place, and I have given up cholate for lent, it's not gonna be a good time to visit that place. On the bright side, I get to visit the Heineken brewery in Amsterdam. :) So take that.

Yeah the logo I'm using right now is my old one from MFLS when I was Kuhnscoot United. I thought that it would work until a friend of mine finishes my new Rangers logo for the MFLS season and for when I get supporter for hattrick. It'll be nice I hope.

I gave up chocolate for lent a few years ago. Not easy, and I sure wouldn't tempt fate by going to a chocolate place. I'm not a drinker, but seeing the Heineken brewery would be awesome. And I do feel sorry for you now. :)

One week of stamina training. 3 of my six IM trainees went up. I now have 4 at excellent. Several form drops, but not as bad as last week. Wild. I also had one increase in experience. A very good week I think.

jeremycaulfield said:

what do the league numbers mean and how many levels are there in the league?
thanks

The roman numerals (I, II, III, IV, V, & VI) refer to the level of the series (higher numbers being supposedly higher-quality leagues), just like in (real life) England with the Premier league, 1st divison, etc., or (real life) USA with MLS, the A-League, PDL, etc., down to Sunday Beer League.

The arabic numerals (1-1024) after the roman numerals just say which series in that level you are in.

In the USA, there are 10920 teams in 1365 series in 6 divisions:

1 series in Division I (MLS): 8 teams
4 series in Division II: 32 teams
16 in Division III: 128 teams
64 in Division IV: 512 teams
256 in Division V: 2048 teams
1024 in Division IV: 8192 teams

Any series below Division IV (and countires like Sweeden or the Netherlands have this many divisions) also has 8192 teams.

I think for division V, the number doesn't really mean anything at this point, but in div. IV it does as most of the higher divisions are populated solely by "bot" (computer controlled teams).

I heard some vague reference on one of the conferences that the HT-gods fill in places (i.e. replace bot and abandoned teams) starting with the lower leagues, so people off the waitin glist will first be given a team in a league with a lower number. But don't quote me on that point.

So the series numbers are rally just an identifier. They don't really mean anything.

Since Hattrick was done, I was going through my bookmarks to cure my need to read Hattrick stuff. I came across this link (http://www.hottrick.org). It has a number of great things to look at. The most important is the Platypus Guide on the left side menu. The starting section is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Current HT-Time: 2004-02-28 15:10:52

11:34: Hattrick is currently down. We're investigating technical problems.

UPDATE 12:36: No news yet.

UPDATE 12:55: The main database-server has a hardware problem. We do not have an estimated time for when this is fixed yet.

UPDATE 13:36: One CPU on the server seems to be broken. Technician on his way. Current estimate is that the site will be up again tonight.

Now they shouldn't be playing table soccer with the CPU :-)

On another note what is everyone's thoughts on the US National Team election...I know quite a few of us are NKOTB, but I'm pulling for Onion Patch right now. I like his ideas in his election thread. I don't know how many of you feel about having the bulk of US National team conversations off site, but that is something I'm against. I'm thinking that having an off HT site where issues like that are discussed is not necessarily beneficial, especially one where the US National Team coach can add or restrict your presence. I know it was an issue that came up after the Sweden loss.

You know, I don't think I've been playing long enough to have any intelligent comments about the Nat. team coach. I have been enjoying Afoci's candidacy in Canada, though......

New news at my HT-Arena site:
http://www.ht-arena.com/flatironsfc/

Summary: Babylonians are everywhere, and they're evil.

I've also started compiling a statistics and records page (thanks kuhnscoot).

I love the fact everyone is really getting into the website thing. It makes the game more than just number and words on a page. And ur_land, that is wild, two "Babylonians" in a row.

That being said, I want my youth pull. And I want him now. I can't wait till tonight dammit.

Well I'm waiting a bit(30 minutes and counting) to see what my youth pull will be, but I'm keeping an open mind on his skill levels.

As far as the US NT elections go, Slashers is a decent managert, but he ddn't earn himself any points during the Hattrick WC when people were talking and bashed them for talking about tatics on a public forum and being lazy not to registor on that other forum, but able to bash USA play on the USA Conferance.

Personally, I might not vote, but I will see who has been nominatted.

Playing a bot in the Open Cup so I think I will go with normal and play AOW w/the regular Starting XI that I believe I have established since the offseason began.

Now to get out of debt.

Well, back from Amsterdam just in time for the new youth pull. (Please great random send me an excellent PM/passer/stamina that is 17, or at least a 17 I can sell);).

Anyways, I haven't been paying a lot of attention lately to the USNT, but I think most of that debate started while I was gone for my trip. My opinion, is that I am probably gonna stay away from voting, but if I see a cadidate that I like from what his opinions are then I'll vote for him. One thing I did notice though, was our formation changes on the nats team. Personally though, I don't know enough about the national team to make any intelligent based posts on that subject.

Very nicely done ur_land, I like what you got so far.

And it's time to make my pick.....

DAMNIT!!!!!:(

Stamina: inadequate Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: weak
Winger: wretched Defending: wretched
Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: inadequate

And this after I see that my youth system had bumped up to excellent this past week. Now that just really pisses me off. I mean I have still yet to hit the jackpot, even get half the numbers right, a solid main skill area. Seriously, I need a good pull to supplement all this money that I am spending on it. I mean I probabaly just broke even last year. Now I need it's my time to break the bank with a good pull, and I get this crap, a player with wretched for 3/4 of the field player skills.

ANCHOR is the acronym for the Allied North Carolina Hattrick Organization. The ANCHOR Cup series is a group of competitions that we arrange primarily for the benefit, training, and experience of North Carolina based clubs, which is a region in the USA.

The ANCHOR Cup series is entering its second season of play. This season we invite all interested clubs through out the HT World to compete in the ANCHOR Cup series. Registration for the ANCHOR Cup series runs from March 1st through May 5th 2004. We will be offering competitive matches from Week 1 to Week 15 of the coming season. In addition we will be providing as prizes, a 1-year subscription to HT Supporter, and three 3-month subscriptions, two of which will be awarded by lottery.

For more information or to enter the ANCHOR Cup series please ht-mail [teamid=70653] Wilmington Showboats from March 1st to May 5th 2004. All ANCHOR Cup series communications will be handled via HT-mail, ANCHOR Federation Conference, and a thread in the USA Conference titled “ANCHOR Cup Series II” (the official rules have been posted here).

BTW...sorry about your YP...my YS just went to passable last week and my YP was only slightly better (still fired him). You would think that one of these multi-excellents would pop up...I think I've only seen one Exc-Solid all last season.

Despite sacrificing two goats and a virgin from our supporter's club, the week 0 youth pull sucked. The virginity of our virgin is now under investigation.

ROFLMAO.

OK, youth pull was crap. But he had good stamina and passing. I put him up for sale. Maybe some poor schmuck will take him. If not, I'll just Soprano his butt.

My YS went to inadequate last week. And neither of my pulls was worth a damn.

On the national team, I don't fully understand how the whole system works. I guess I'll listen to the candidates, and whoever makes the most sense is who I'll vote for.

The manager will be responsible for running the team: picking the players for the roster, setting lineups and match tactics, scheduling friendlies in the weeks when we're not doing qualifying.

I had no problems whatsoever getting registered after the Sweden loss. But you can be there were a ton of people trying to get registered in the middle of a WC to express their disproval. I would expect less than immediate approval.

I think it's a good thing. You don't want foreign teams gaining insight into our strategy. Some thing led the US Manager to believe that Sweden was going to play a certain way. If I'm the Swedish Manager and I heard that, I'd make a change. With controlled access to US Nat forums, that can't happen.
