ahhh i got it. OSUbuckeyes used to be in my division (when i first got the team). my newbie team stayed up in division 5 at her cost. she came back up to my roommate's division. it was funny cause she is in a "Girls United" and "New kids on the block" federation. best luck to her.

Best of luck to both of our division II teams at getting back to the top flight!

In other news, Brays completed our first major player sale, clearing $2.5 MM on the transfer of primary keeper trainee Jonas Fabian Bruggemann. Former secondary trainee Huang Kien now assumes the top spot, and Brays will spend the next couple of weeks looking for a replacement (as well as spending our newfound riches on a middie and a forward).

If you don't mind me asking, what level was he at? I want to plan ahead for my training regimen....

I figure everyone is probably training stamina right now. ButI’m curious as to what everyone is training for the long term.

I am training playmaking, with all my players at 20 and younger even after they age this weekend.

I'll do wingers for another season or two.

I had been training striker, but I was burned on the defensive end too much this year. So I am switching to defending for the next 2-3 seasons and build my defense up.

And don't worry about your press reports, I'll still read them. :)

I appreciate that. I promise to be as entertaining as possible.

For those who don't train PM, what does everyone look for in their playmakers? I'm currently on the hunt for solid forwards/wingers, after upgrading my defenders to solid.

And instead of training defense, how about training PM to cut down on your opponent's chances with the ball?

For the next season or 2 I'm going to train keeper. A good keeper will improve all three of my defensive ratings, and (from what I've read) it's quicker to train keepers than other skills. This will allow me to sell my trainees a little quicker, and get some money to upgrade my midfielders (at least, that's the plan).

I had trained him for two seasons (ages 19 and 20) with a passable coach, starting at inadequate keeper skill. He entered this season at solid.

At the end of this season, in my estimation, I'll have a magnificent keeper in Huang Kien, which should give me an even bigger payday. Kien is a week or two from outstanding right now, he was pulled as a solid in week 2 of last season. At age 20 this season, I'm expecting him to take 6 weeks per level to pop.

My best middie is defensive, so I want an offensive one opposite him, and that also is my weakest spot (hence the one I want to upgrade). So I'm looking for formidable-outstanding PM, at least passable stamina, at least inadequate passing (although I might drop this to weak to improve value, passing is a wee bit overvalued ATM).

My primary trainee will be 20 next season, and I'm looking to fill in a 17-yo (min. passable) or 18-yo (min. solid) in week 0 or 1. If I don't pull it, I'll buy it.

Actually I was looking at my d, and I think it can hold for another few seasons, so I quickly went out and bought two more young playmakers, and I'm gonna start training playmaker. And what I'm looking for now, is probably gonna be another winger to improve my wing, probably after a season or two I'll buy one.

I believe it is quicker, but the problem is, is that with keeper you are only allowed those two maybe three players to train, so you need to get decent paydays from those players each time you sell them, due to the lack of trainees that you have.

Just checked my team, won their qualification match 7-1. My youth team pull, solid scoring, passable playmaking, scores 4 on his debut!

BTW- does everyone train stanima in the close season?

Congrats on the win. As far as stamina training, I am training it. I bought my PM trainees with higher stamina than I had, but with some room to grow.

Just make sure they have good stamina. I learned the hard way that stamina is very important.

That's a good point, which is why my long-long-long term strategy is to train up 2 keepers, sell one, and keep the other as the rock of my defense. Then train one or two more, and use the money I get from my 2 (or 3) trained keepers to buy some young playmakers (or forwards--haven't decided yet), and start training them up.

How long does training playmaking take before player 20 and under goes up a level? I'm considering trainign playmaking now after looking at my squad.
