Was losing 1-nil and then in the last ten minutes, I gave up two goals. Lost 3-nil in a game I knew I wouldn't win so I pic. Lost one of my forwards for two weeks so I went out and bought a passable dutch player. I got several "seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team." notes which before the game the 5-4-1 formation was passable. Oh well.
Defense is getting solid and excellent ratings. Just need to work on midfield.
Plan on training playmaking or defense after next season. Hopefully three of my wingers who started off as either passable or solid will be close to outstanding. Not bad considering they will only be 19 and 20. :)

Really, scoring is only valuable for forwards (long shot special events notwithstanding), so it's not worth it to sacrifice training speed to get scoring training for other outfield players. Even at 50%, that's a HUGE difference -- suppose you train a player from solid up to outstanding (starting older than 17), that's worth at least $2 MM and probably closer to 3. Halve the training rate, and that player is only halfway through formidable, and at best half as valuable.

Alright, 500,000 in the bank and I just spent it in about 30 seconds. got a passable coach (had inadequate) - as my emphasis is on training all my young players (i have all teenagers who are passable at their primary skill, in line with the position) - and then expanded the stadium by 2700, as I normally sell out my 7,250 ground.
Having major buyer's remorse now, but my thinking is all long term, wnat to build these guys up to solid, sell a few of them, keep investing in youth, sell a few more, and so on until i can buy players worthy of a major advancement.
Time will tell.

There is a thread on the USA conference on HT...there are actually people playing Hattrick that don't like soccer. It sort of gets me...and some of the clubs with managers that don't like soccer are pretty high up in the league.
I think its sad.

Sounds like a good strategy. I remember you asking about how to tell how high a skill level some players have a little ways back. If you have some time to watch the transfer lists and keep notes on your own players you should be able to figure it out. That's a very good skill to have for a new team so that you can buy new players, train them for a few weeks and sell them for a decent profit. What's your team name by the way?

If you're reasonably successful, you'll outgrow an expansion of that size in no time, and the larger your stadium, the cheaper the per-seat cost as you spread the fixed $30 000 charge over more seats.
My original expansion (in the first couple of weeks of ownership) was to 13 000; that sold out all last season except against the bottom feeders, so early this season I expanded to 30 000. When my supporters are happy and I'm against a good team, I'll even sell this size out, so I'll probably go up to 40 000 next season.

I think its sad. I don't really see what's sad about it; I think it's cool that the HT team has succeeded in making a game that appeals to fans of management games generally and not necessarily just soccer fans.

Sold my recent youth pull and going to try and update my midfield. Being debt free is so nice because there are lots of choices now. :)
I'm upgrade my stadium when I sell out a few games in VI.

I'm finally going to reach 1000 supporters when the next batch of supporters sign-up.
Will be interesting after this week's loss how many fans will show up this Sunday when we host the #5 team. I sold out vs the #1. Hopefully I can reclaim the second position with this next game.

The Hospitalised List has me at #78 with 3 players out for a total of 8 wks. Thankfully I'm no where near the worst...

I should as well hit the 1000 supporters number fairly soon. And my Youth Pull sold for enough this week to pay for my investment in my youth program, gotta love how that works out. :D

I trotted out the scrubs to get pounded by superior foes in the freindly match. The first half ended 1-1 with my veteran striker notching an early goal.
The second half ended 5-1.
I got bossed. =)

Lost my friendly 3-2 after leading 2-0 early.
Got one player injured, but he is listed as injured but training. So I assuming he'll get training for this week.
I am preparing for stamina training in the off season, do players need to actually play to get stamina training or does everyone get that training whether they play or not?

I won my friendly but lost yet another defender to injury. I might climb higher on the Hatstats Hospitalized list. :( I doubt it though. I've got two guys with 1 week of injury time left. With my 10 doctors, they shouldn't be that way for long.

Got spanked in my friendly this week 5-0 the team I played had most of their starters in and that cost me the chance of winning the consolation bracket of the V and VI tournament. Oh well, 10 out of 32 and a 3-2, with 5 weeks of friendlies taken care of, isn't terrible, congrats to Gunner on finishing 8 in the tournament.
I still have braging rights though. ;)

Just wanted to share: I've been carrying 3 keepers most of the series, and this week I was thinking of selling one (none of my backups are any good). I didn't sell, and sure enough, in my friendly yesterday, the goalie was injured and is now out for 2 weeks.
So 3 goalies is a good thing.
