I know there's been a little discussion of spokespersons before, but nothing really in depth--what's a good number to get? And have there been any studies on the marginal benefits of SPs? After some number does their effectiveness wear off?

Thanks.....

the supporters come and go, nothing you can really do other than win to keep getting them.

Spokesmen are good for getting sponsor money, but at the end of each season, it resets(like your teams attitude, fan club). I currently have 5 at the moment.

Won my friendly cup game 5-2 after penalties. The tosser had the nerve to hurt one of my better youth pulls. Now I'm a bit week at midfield after I downsized my roster(went from about 25/26 to 21 with maybe going down to 19 soon).

Looks like I should be able to get two formable wingers by the end of next years as one is solid and has been on my squad all season likely to get it sooner, with my recent signing a solid , but with the time left in the season should get to at least excellent. If I can get him to formable(he is 17 at the moment), I might ht-email the Swedish U20 coach and ask him if he is worth of a place. then again Sweden has about 34731264723469723697467823646923784697862398746987 other players to choose from. ;)

Like I had said earlier, for division 5 and 6, what I've learned is that 5-6 spokespeople are good, in the higher divisions, teams will have up to 10 spokespeople. Usually in division 5 and 6, you won't make more money then what you'd get with the help of your 5-6 spokespeople.

With supporters, I can't really tell you what did that, but it's probably due to your spokespeople if I had to venture a guess, but don't quote me on that.

I'm getting 13, twice a week. Closing in on 1000 by the end of the week.

In other news, Mongrel FC departed with a striker today and received 40K (net) from the transaction. He was bought to help out with the cup run this year. Unfortunately the solid veteran was in a wretched form funk all season, and while he was a nice boost, he did not pay off well as a long term member. That coupled with the recent stadium expansion, lead management to put the player on the market.

I used to get 25-26 a week, down to 24 a week now when the team is winning. I've been running 10 spokies most of the last two seasons, although last season I knocked it down to I think 6 toward the end of the season and I'll probably do the same this season (already went down to 8 last week).

what kind of sponser money does 10 bring in? I have 6 and next week I should bring in 50,000 for the first time this year. Would it be worth it next year to have 10?

is there a big difference between weak and inad. coaches?

In aggregate, they paid for themselves up through the middle of the season -- my increases were enough that multiplied out over the number of weeks remaining, they were worth more than $1500 -- but I don't know what the marginal impact of a single spokesperson would have been. So I'm not sure if it would be worth it for you.

Last update, I brought in $63 030 with my sponsors DITS and 1135 supporters.

The difference is about one week of training, which is more valuable for keepers and wingers and less valuable for everything else.

Well isn't this interesting, in the Div V and VI cup this next week, I play the same team I played the first week, only this time it's at my place instead of his. So hopefully I can get back at them for knocking me out of the winners bracket of the tournament, funny how since I lost I've won my last two, with two more left.

If any of you are interested and live in Georgia (well, if your team is in Georgia), I'm trying to get a Georgia cup set up for next season... the thread in the Hattrick forums is under the same name as this post. Or you can just email me, eatingbark@hotmail.com. If things go quickly we could possibly start it this season (i.e. with the set of friendlies after next), with a smaller format (probably just 8 teams).

Suspensions are effective for competition games only. The player is eligible for the your next friendly. Although, if you're asking at this point, chances are he'll be serving the suspension tomorrow, right?

I've been playing for two seasons now, all in the same division, and I had no chance in my league match today. Lost 3 - 0 and the MOTS/press no doubt kept it from being a lot worse.

first several games are the toughest because your squad's form is close to wretched. you'll naturally get better. The toughest thing to come up with is the line up. its initially difficult to look at. just remember the most important skills for each position and forget about the secondary skills for now.

And to get a quick rundown of the important skills, just look at section 14 of the rules ("The Player").
