My counter attacking isn't that good and attacking on the wings (I did this last time) proved to be disastrous.

I may be tempted to attack through the middle also and play one of both of my wingers towards the middle to strengthen my inner midfield. An alternative, if you have the players to do it, might be to strengthen your wing attack to take advantage of the AIM penalty without using the AOW tactic.

I have a decent set of wings for my division and series, so I like to keep my wings offensive and my offense spread out (except when I play 3-4-3, but even then I only abandon one wing). It's paid off for me so far, I'd beaten my goal total from last season at the midway point.

My league this week is an important match for me, I play the 4th place team, I'm 3rd only 1 point up on him, so I really need this game, I've given up most hope of catching the second place team right now, they are too good right now, so when I play them next week, I'm gonna PIC, because this week, I'm hoping to get the win at home MOTS. I should be able to, I got lucky the first time I played him, he had been stats then me, but my defense held up, and I got a late strike for the win at his place. Now I got him at home and feel pretty good about my attacking the wings ability.

Just made almost 80k in transfers and that makes it to where if I have a decent crowd on Sunday, I might be debt free. Yey!

Right now I am in 8th with three points, but 7th is only ahead of me by 1 pt. 5&6 both have 7 which I might be able to catch one of them. If I don't and take the drop, I can aim to try and stay debt free. :)

Well, I've got about zero chance at winning my series, but I'm not likly to demote so that's a good thing. I'm going to go through some major changes this off-season. I'm going to unload my midfield so I can try to be a purely counter-attacking team.

Im in kind of a similar situation. The team I am playing is in second, one point ahead of me... I need to beat them in order to keep pace with the league leader... In two weeks I host the leader at my place and hopefully I won't have botched any matches along the way because I have a feeling it is going to come down to who gets the points head to head...

I was wondering about how much a player that has passable stamina, passable winger, passable passing, and passable set pieces would go for. He is worth 85000 US$ and is 28 years old in passable form. What are your opinions?

If your going to try and sell him I would set the starting bid at 75% of value for a player that well rounded...but I wouldn't buy him because I am to poor :-(

I play the #1 in our league...he's got 21 to my 11 and I'm sitting in 4th. A bit to far to catch and he slaughtered me 5-1 away. I'm at home and should PIC but I need the goals so I'm going to go offensive as I can, try to even out the midfield and try and put some in the net. I don't want to disappoint the fans.

probably start him somewhere around $45K and he should probably sell the problem is that wingers are really cheap (the other week I picked up a passable for 5K). Also his age will be a factor, cause he's getting closer to the age were he will start dropping in skill. You can always start the auction low and people will find the guy, many people on hattrick search for bargins, and a guy with 4 passable skills would be a decent pick up for most people.

All that said, I probably don't know what I'm talking about. so someone else will probably give you a better idea of what to do. The only thing of that you should probably listen to is the part I wrote about wingers being cheap, cause they are. The best way to figure out a starting price is to look on the transfer list for players with the same skills and see how much they are going for.

I would do a search in Sweden with someone of similar age and skills and see what he is going for.

I would think some might be put off by his age, 28 is way too old to trade and soon his skills will decline.

If you have "Hattrick Buddy", it gives you a transfer evaluation price of each of your players. I find that very helpful.

Let me know how much he sells for. I've got a an excellent stamina, inad winger, pass passer that I'm going to sell. The best thing your player has going for him is the passable wing/passable pass. A lot of people value high skills in those two areas. You will likely get a fair amount of interest. The set pieces won't help you much, maybe some. Passable stamina, will require some upgrading.

Personally, I wouldn't be turned off by the age much, but some. The 75% suggestion I think is ver valid. I think your player would be very valuable to a Div V team not training winger.

form updates
I had a very good week finally. Had 9 bump in form and 2 drop in form. 13 up in value over 6 drops. I finally have 2 players in solid form and my starting keeper is finally above inadequate. Yay!

I had two nice skill jumps this week, I'm training striker right now, and one of my starters went from passable to solid, while one of my reserves with excellent stamina went from inad to passible. I'm so happy. Finally a skill jump for me. That guy will probably be on the transfer list at the end of this next season or so, as long as my other reserve forward jumps too.

Well I'm slowly inching my way out of the red. With any luck, this will be the week. Plus with my squad as it is, I doubt I will go to the transfer market unless half my squad gets injuried.

My youth pull was a dany one. A 17 yr old who is as follows:

Stamina: weak Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: poor Passing: inadequate
Winger: passable Defending: inadequate
Scoring: solid Set Pieces: wretched

Stamina needs a little work, but I hope to get him to at least solid as a winger before the end of the season.

wouldnt it be better if u just sold him as he is (if you're training wingers)? looks like he's more promising as a striker than winger, since his playmaking is poor.

I"ve been putting $5000 a week into my youth squad since I started the game, which I think was about 15 weeks ago, maybe a few more, something like that anyway.

My youth squad is now inadequate. When will it get to passable?

I have almost all teens on my squad, 17-19, passable at their primary skills, two deep in every position.

I've also got 350,000 on hand and am likely to get relegated this season (but maybe not as there are two other teams in my division that are just as awful as me.

I want to keep training to build these young players up, and then produce some decent young players that I can sell in order to drive my account up past $500,000. I read somewhere, maybe here, that this is when you can get a solid coach. I'll impporoe slowly until that point, and then I want to get the good coach with my cash, and start improving faster until I've got 23-25 year old guys who are ready to do the business.

That's my idea anyway. We'll see.
